About this listen

A throwaway assignment is about to change two lives forever.

Aidyn Kelley is talented, ambitious, and ready for a more serious assignment than the fluff pieces she’s been getting as a cub reporter for the Kansas City Star. In her eagerness, she pushes too hard, earning herself the menial task of writing an obituary for an unremarkable woman who’s just entered hospice care.

But there’s more to Clara Kip than meets the eye. The spirited septuagenarian may be dying, but she’s not quite ready to cash it in yet. Never one to shy away from an assignment herself, she can see that God brought the young reporter into her life for a reason. And if it’s a story Aidyn Kelley wants, that’s just what Mrs. Kip will give her—but she’s going to have to work for it.

Highly recommend. May we all be a little more like Mrs. Kip. A wonderful story and the narrator did a great job.

The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip is beautifully told. I love the way the author strings and weaves together words and imagery. The story itself touched a deep, personal place in my heart. Mrs. Kip is so inspiring! And yet, though she may not grow and change as drastically as her young friend, that growth is still there. Her life, and its thousand deaths, stir in my heart the desire to press on even through the shadow. This is a story I will listen to again and again.

One of my favorite books of all time. I so enjoyed reading this book and being inspired by the love of God captured in the story of Mrs. Kip. Truly an inspiration and encouragement.

What an inspiring author! I love both her books and want more, but this one speaks to me on a different level because of my life experiences. I love that she presents Scripture throughout her books as part of the story, not just a reference. Her books are full of life and lessons. Mrs. Kip led an extraordinary life that needed to be told! It's a wonderful read with humor and heartache, but full of life. I devoured both it and The Divine Proverb of Streusel in two days and want more!

Very nice story but more preachy than I anticipated. The narrator was very good. Interesting history.

This is a strongly Christian book.

I absolutely loved this story. It was an easy read, and lovely concept. I enjoyed how Mrs. Kip's story evolved for Aidan (sp), and the fun personality of Mrs. Kip.

The evangelism and mission aspect of Mrs. Kip's life was told well. Truly enjoyed the author. Will recommend to friends.

An Interesting Title, a Bittersweet Story

I don't have words to express how inspiring this book is. It prompts me to learn more about my community. Good job Sara Brunsvold.

Extraordinary!!!

This is not the usual genre for me. This story, done like a split time novel, did a brilliant job of detailing what we all hope our last days and obituaries will be like. Accurate in end of life detail written with levity. Be prepared to laugh and cry. Enjoyed this book.

Surprisingly delightful
