About this listen

Although Victor Bayne is a valued asset of the FPMP, he still vividly recalls his PsyCop days: the eye rolls, the nasty looks, and the occasional utterance of the words Spook Squad whenever he showed up on a scene. So he really should empathize with Howard Jibben, the weekend lab manager known as Heebie Jeebie.

But does the guy really need to be so darn annoying?

Thanks to the researchers OCD tendencies, when a mysterious shipment arrives, what should be a routine ghost-check turns into an excruciating ordeal made even worse by a freak incident that leaves them stranded in the FPMPs basement.

Jacob may be the ranking agent on site, but even he cant control the weather. Yet given the pressure he puts on himself to master his newfound ability, its as if he thinks the burden to free everyone is his alone.

Vic has never put much stock in luck, but the sheer number of disasters raining down on them cant possibly be pure chance and things are only getting worse. Is it a curse? Telekinesis? Sabotage?

Or is there something more sinister lurking in the shadows?
PsyCop is an ongoing series filled with supernatural action and delightfully awkward humor with a steady undercurrent of gay romance. Its best listened in order, so if you're new to the series, start with PsyCop #1, Among the Living and prepare for a hauntingly good listen.

I could not stop listening

This series is wonderful, amazing writing, and beautifully narrated. I stopped another audiobook to listen to this one in one day. Thanks for continuing this series!

Slow paced

Overall I liked this installment but I found it very slow moving. Looking forward to the next book in this series

Kept me guessing

I enjoyed the continuation of the story and like the rest, this one kept me guessing. I thought I might know what was going on one minute and the next was second guessing myself. I really like that the relationship between Vic and Jacob continues to develop even as a married couple. They continue to grow together and that’s nice to see even as they’re trying to figure out what the hell is going on around them.

A series that continues to be amazing

I kind of want to just relisten to this right now. I'm so glad this story took the route it did (although I'd love to see them with a dog, lol).

This series just continues to be amazing, in the path the larger World is going, and in the way their relationship continues to grow. It was a little weird not to have any Crash in this, though, lol. I love how much they support each other and how well they know each other. It would be awesome to get a short from Jacob's POV now that they are so much further in the relationship.

Audio: Pugh was born to be Vic and my enjoyment of his work just continues to grow.

A Spooktacular Read

I wasn’t prepared for the plot to be so spooky! It didn’t help that was finishing the book during a tornado warning. I loved the mystery of the plot and the quiet moments between Jacob and Vic. I love seeing their relationship grow.

Amazing.. but super intense

Not going to lie this one hit all of my 'didn't realize that was a fear' fears... This book was amazing but I could only take it in in hour long stretches with happy silly books in between. It had everything that it gets my heart racing!

SPOOK SPOILER

The dark ✅
ghost- of course, ✅
fear of dead bodies✅
fear of potential suffocation✅
fear of the underground ✅
fear of small spaces ✅
fear of storms✅
fear of electrical shocks✅
fear of abandonment ✅
fear for a loved ones safety✅
Fear of prolonged starvation ✅

...Honestly this one was made to give me heart palpitations, total the clock is ticking vibes. I persisted though and I'm glad I did it's an amazing book and a fantastic addition to the series it just hit a little close to my 'fear receptors' to quote Victor... I'll probably skip through this one and only hit the highlights next time I'm reading the series through, that's not to say I didn't love it though! it was amazing, I just don't do well with horror or thrillers and this skirted uncomfortably close to that line!
Jacob and Victor's love is palpable and beautiful in this book and I love seeing the growth in both characters! I also find their interactions with new characters fun. It would have been so easy for Jordan to put them in the situation with a known character but the fact that she didn't put everybody on edge and had everyone questioning everyone else's motives, a beautiful and brilliant idea that totally paid off! I always go into her books knowing that I'm going to get a little spook, whether it's Camp Hell descriptions making me shiver or the detailed description of exercising a ghost from a moving corps I always know I'm going to get a little spooked. This one was just a little more than the others and I'm sure that will make this book a lot of her reader's favorite, but it was a little much for me! Gomez Pugh is absolutely fantastic! He dragged you into the story and doesn't let you go giving life to Victor and Jacob in a way no one else could! The way he makes Victor sound nonchalant and terrified at the same time is a thing of beauty! And his Jacob is always strong and stalwart with the slightest hint of insecurity creeping through! He brings this series to life and doesn't incredible job! Great book! 💯💯💯

Not my favorite

Story 3.5
Overall not my favorite story. The same basics are there. Vic does his ghost thing, Jacob learns more about his gift. ( although I don't remember when he learns he was a TK)
What I found most boring was the fact the scenery never changed. I don't understand why the guard had to die?

The narration is what saves the story. GP as usual does a great job keeping this going and some what entertaining

Huge fan of Psycop

Skelton Crew doesn’t disappoint. I think I love this series for the main characters. Sweet stuff. And then there’s the snarky sarcasm. So clever. Another great installment. Gomez Pugh really is Victor and a lot of other characters too. Thank you to Jordan for staying with this the series. You bring me lots of pleasure. You too Gomez.

I love this!

This book is so well written. It's intense. It was scarier than some of the others, but I couldn't put it down. I love Vic and Jacob. They are both flawed but equally badass in their own way. I hope there's going to be more in this series.

I love the narrator for the audiobook. I think his voice acting embodies the personalities of the characters perfectly. Plus, his voice is sexy. ❤️
