Publisher's summary

Although Victor Bayne is a valued asset of the FPMP, he still vividly recalls his PsyCop days: the eye rolls, the nasty looks, and the occasional utterance of the words Spook Squad whenever he showed up on a scene. So he really should empathize with Howard Jibben, the weekend lab manager known as Heebie Jeebie.

But does the guy really need to be so darn annoying?

Thanks to the researchers OCD tendencies, when a mysterious shipment arrives, what should be a routine ghost-check turns into an excruciating ordeal made even worse by a freak incident that leaves them stranded in the FPMPs basement.

Jacob may be the ranking agent on site, but even he cant control the weather. Yet given the pressure he puts on himself to master his newfound ability, its as if he thinks the burden to free everyone is his alone.

Vic has never put much stock in luck, but the sheer number of disasters raining down on them cant possibly be pure chance and things are only getting worse. Is it a curse? Telekinesis? Sabotage?

Or is there something more sinister lurking in the shadows?
PsyCop is an ongoing series filled with supernatural action and delightfully awkward humor with a steady undercurrent of gay romance. Its best listened in order, so if you're new to the series, start with PsyCop #1, Among the Living and prepare for a hauntingly good listen.

A series that continues to be amazing

I kind of want to just relisten to this right now. I'm so glad this story took the route it did (although I'd love to see them with a dog, lol).

This series just continues to be amazing, in the path the larger World is going, and in the way their relationship continues to grow. It was a little weird not to have any Crash in this, though, lol. I love how much they support each other and how well they know each other. It would be awesome to get a short from Jacob's POV now that they are so much further in the relationship.

Audio: Pugh was born to be Vic and my enjoyment of his work just continues to grow.

Excellent story. Excellent narration.

Sometimes, JCP's stories have enough dark thriller, suspense, horror, mystery elements to have me double checking the shadows before I walk down the street. This was one of those books. Like Victor, I am not a huge fan of rooms that don't have a clear escape route. (Seriously, anyone who lives in an earthquake zone should really reconsider designing rooms that don't have a window you can crawl out of.) This book traps Victor and Jacob in the FPMP's basement, and the ensuing events don't exactly contain puppies and rainbows. There is a dog at the beginning of the book, but don't be deceived. JCP hasn't gone soft on the horror elements.

This story adds some more interesting tidbits to the history of psyche research. I like getting these tidbits handed out one piece at a time. I want more, but I am satisfied with the resolution of the book.

If you have been reading PsyCop since the first book, keep going. If you haven't, start now with book one, and try to catch up. I also really recommend the audiobooks narrated by Gomez Pugh. His narration is excellent. He sounds precisely like I expect Victor to sound, and his performance is flawless.

I love this!

This book is so well written. It's intense. It was scarier than some of the others, but I couldn't put it down. I love Vic and Jacob. They are both flawed but equally badass in their own way. I hope there's going to be more in this series.

I love the narrator for the audiobook. I think his voice acting embodies the personalities of the characters perfectly. Plus, his voice is sexy. ❤️

Not my favorite

Story 3.5
Overall not my favorite story. The same basics are there. Vic does his ghost thing, Jacob learns more about his gift. ( although I don't remember when he learns he was a TK)
What I found most boring was the fact the scenery never changed. I don't understand why the guard had to die?

The narration is what saves the story. GP as usual does a great job keeping this going and some what entertaining

Huge fan of Psycop

Skelton Crew doesn’t disappoint. I think I love this series for the main characters. Sweet stuff. And then there’s the snarky sarcasm. So clever. Another great installment. Gomez Pugh really is Victor and a lot of other characters too. Thank you to Jordan for staying with this the series. You bring me lots of pleasure. You too Gomez.
