About this listen

Twenty years ago, four teenage boys left a baby behind in a crushed car after they caused the tragic accident that took the mother's life. Ever since, they've guarded the secret that would've ruined their lives and destroyed their future careers. But when one of them succumbs to illness, a blackmailer makes contact, and the survivors realize that, somehow, someone else knows. Now, everything that matters to them is at stake.

Las Vegas billionaire Wendell Logan is pursuing the role of political kingmaker, and he's selected his unsuspecting king: Alan Granger, governor of Pennsylvania. Granger confesses his closet skeleton to Logan, but the tycoon has invested too much time and money into Granger's future presidential campaign to let him and his old friends endanger Logan's power play.

It's time to run.

Better than expected

What a perfect political thriller. I enjoyed every moment of this audio book from the first death all the way to the last. This was one of those audio books that I just couldn't stop listening... found myself up late at night not wanting to turn it off. Narration was perfect for the story and all its characters.

Great book 4.5*

Skeleton run is a wonderful book.

I absolutely love the premise! In this book you watch 4 men grow up with unimaginable guilt. You see how each of them deals with it differently and how it has affected them.

This is a gripping and powerful story that truly makes you think.

The narration is top notch too. It kept me hooked all the way through and I loved the characterisations!

Definitely worth a read!

Guilt trips are a bummer.

I received this audiobook from Audiobook Boom in exchange for my honest review.

4 guys lives are followed in this gripping tale. I like what John did to develop these characters along the way. It really shows what guilt does to people and the way they handle it.

Liked the aspect that it followed a political theme and some of the things that happen behind the scenes. If you never thought about politics and the way it is done, read this to enlighten you. It will explain a lot.

Just enough to keep you listening

The book wasn't great, but it was good enough to finish, but it didn't answer the primary question in my mind. There were also a few "fluff" items that were very well written and would probably get an A in a college descriptive writing class, but seemed out of place compared to the rest of the book. It's one of those things where if I was reading it, I probably wouldn't have noticed, but at least for me; things stand out more in audiobook.

Captivating and Intriguing!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Skeleton Run to be better than the print version?

I have not had the pleasure of reading the print version so I would be unable to compare the two. Preferably, I enjoy audio books because if the story line and narrator are good I am able to visualize what is happening in my minds' eye and feel as if I am witnessing the story.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the plot did keep me on the edge of my seat because it was so well written that it felt like it was an actual story taken from the headlines which managed to intrigue me even more.

What does Sean Patrick Hopkins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Sean Patrick Hopkins delivers an amazing performance with this story. He has the ability to portray each character in a way that allows you to picture them in your minds' eye. His tone, inflection and pace are perfect. He injects the right amount of suspense and emotion at the appropriate time that manages to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have an extreme reaction to the book as I was on an emotional roller coaster throughout the entire story. The actions of the four young men on the fateful night and then how they carried on their lives had me feeling angry and saddened at the same time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a Captivating, Gripping and Intriguing Thriller that once you start it, you will be unable to turn it off.

Skeleton Run

I found this book to be on the boring side.Four teen boys leave an infant in a car after they are in a crash that killed the mother.Years later they are leading productive lives when vengeance comes calling in many ways.Sean Patrick Hopkins was a fine narrator.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
