About this listen

A proven series with a hot new look. The #1 best-selling author returns with her most anticipated novel yet.

When a vampire serial killer sends Anita Blake a grisly souvenir from Las Vegas, she has to warn Sin City's local authorities what they're dealing with. Only it's worse than she thought. Ten officers and one executioner have been slain - paranormal style. Anita heads to Vegas, where's she's joined by three other federal marshals, including the ruthless Edward. It's a good thing he always has her back, because when she gets close to the bodies, Anita senses "tiger" too strongly to ignore it. The weretigers are very powerful in Las Vegas, which means the odds of her rubbing someone important the wrong way just got a lot higher.

I love Anita ❤️ I couldn't put my phone down not to mention thank God for Kimberly Alexis for coming back to read the books. Loved her verizon of The Wicked Truth and Requiem's voice.

LKH sometimes gets a bit carried away with Anita and her metaphysics and the descriptions get too long. But this one is a bit lighter on the metaphysics and heavier on the action. It's also lighter on the sex that some people complain about. That it is taking place in Vegas without her usual retinue is a nice change and I like Edward being along. The narrator did a pretty good job, except her voice for Jean-Claude was awful. He sounded like a 12 year old girl with a bad French accent. I'm a bit worried to try another of the books that has more of Jean-Claude in it. He was barely in this one.

Lots of action!

Would you listen to Skin Trade again? Why?

Yes, but I would listen to all the books again.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Well I only listen while driving to and from work. I definitely find myself driving slower so I can hear more.

I liked it

I'll be honest, this book I had to pause two or three times with the details of the book. I enjoyed all the sex scenes and the metaphysical that was brought in. Anita just keeps adding men to her list doesn't she 😍

loooooong

Finally a book with less smut. This started out as a great series, but I have no interest in a quarter of the story being smut. There are some loose ends, or some story that was left as a cut corner though. (no spoilers)
As for the narration, crap as usual. female narrator only, even for men, can't voice-act a man for crap and it's painful for her to put on a fake french accent. Also didn't like her using an accent on a character that literally wasn't supposed to have an accent except at one specific point. Emphasizes things incorrectly, based on general character behavior, so it's like the narrator was simply given a script with minimal direction and whatever came of it, no matter how bad, was accepted.

Almost back to the old days.

I have read almost all the books and could not wait to hear Skin Trade. It was better than I expected. I thought It would be good but this exceeded by expectations. Worth the read.

Action packed, sexy, fun

While everyone is certainly entitled to his/her opinion, I find it interesting the diversity of opinions from people who have read the same book. I've read all of the Anita Blake books. I've enjoyed them all. Unlike some readers,I've also enjoyed the ones that are more character-centric, even if that means lots of sex scenes. I don't believe those scenes were gratutious, but added to Hamilton's story. This book was long, but it held my attention and I thought the ending was terrific. My only "complaint" is that I missed hearing about Jean Claude, Micah, Asher, etc. I thought the book was well worth the listen. Anita Blake fans will not be disappointed.

Really Enjoyable
