I would listen to the story again; it was very interesting, and I enjoyed it.

It was exciting and action packed, just what I enjoy in a book.

She made the story leap off the page and gave it life.

Listening to it definitely gave me a "no they didn't", experience. I couldn't wait to hear what was happening next.

Yes, the story truly kept me wanting to see how mature the characters would be with what they encountered.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

What I liked most was that you really felt the drama that adults would go thru which the the teenagers experienced b/c the narrator coincide w/alot of the characters and the scenes. What I liked least was a few times the narrator did not give life to certain parts of the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Everthing in the dark MUST come to lite.

This truly is a story that is told by a woman told truth a teenagers world.

Wow, I finished this book in one day because the story grabbed me from the start. This was my first book by Mike O but it will not be my last. I was up late cutting vegi to store in the freezer just so I would have something to do while I listen. This story is wild and the ending....OMGoodness. I can't wait to hear the rest of this story. My mouth was hanging open at the end. WOW..smoking mirror is fire hot!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. The story was thorough and interesting. The way that Mike O wrote the book, makes you think that you really do know CeCe and Chuck. They could be anybody from your hood or school.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character from the book has to be Chuck. Not only is this dude involved in everything, but he's involved in EVERYTHING. Chuck is a real "F"ed up individual. I can't wait to find out what happens in book 2.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Perhaps the narrator could put more into the character voices. I didn't really notice a change.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When I found out who really killed Chuck's mom, I just remember thinking that was real messed up. His whole life was messed up and he didn't even realize it.

This was an amazing read and I look forward to book 2. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you on the best author's list one day! I know you can do it. You can do anything you put your mind to, and you've proven it time and time again. I'll continue to support you doing what you love to do. You're very creative ;). Start a book club!!!!

Drama & Wrecklessness Meets Real Life

This was a great start to my Audible reading experience. Not typically my style of reading, but gotta love Winston Salem.

I'm from the area the book took place so the location references were very nostalgic.

Mike O, Ohhhh, Mike O! What else can I say but you are so wrong for leaving me hanging like this. I want more! This story was very well developed and you get to know the characters and their strengths and weaknesses. The description and sexual content in the book were well written and filled with imagination. What I like most about this book is the many real life topics you see the characters go through. This book actually has opened my eyes to what is going on in the minds of our youth and the things they deal with in their young lives. I also like how the author helps the readers put the puzzle pieces together so that you know the back story and the importance of some of the characters and can recognize their roles in the story. Lashone Garth is a good narrator and did ok but I think Celeste Graham would have did an awesome job too. I suggest this book to all my urban literature friends you won't want to put this one down. I can't wait for the sequel to see how the characters lives turn out based on everything that we now know. Good Job Mike O you did that and I want more!
