About this listen

You might think I had it all - a career I loved, a supportive family, the Nixon metabolism but not the Nixon ears, and a salary that supported my lavish taste in designer shoes, fine wine, and lacy lingerie - but I had no one to share it with.

Until the day I ran into him - my one-night stand from college with the crooked smile, let's-get-out-of-here eyes, and dirty, dirty mouth. Cute and cocky then, today Levi Brooks is six feet four inches of hot bearded fantasy. A sexy single dad with broad shoulders, strong hands, and a fantastically big...heart. (I mean, it's massive. And generous. And it pumps so hard.... Um. Sorry. Lost my place.)

Being a good father means everything to him, but he's keeping me at a distance because he thinks I deserve someone better - a man who can give me more time, more attention, more of himself. He doesn't believe he could ever be enough, but he's wrong. He's everything.

Contains mature themes.

This was the perfect ending.

This book was the perfect ending to the series. Through this year, you fall in love with Jillian and you just want her to find her happily ever after. I was so happy when she met Levi and getting to know him was so sweet. My heart breaks a little for Levi in the story. He has such a full plate, but I absolutely love that the book portrays him as such an amazing dad to an autistic boy. These two could not have been written any better for each other than they were. This series is definitely want to add to your list.

Another great book

This 3 book series was so good. Each had a unique element. This book was wonderfully narrated. The tight relationship between the sisters showed how emotionally mature they were in contrast to the men in their lives. It was gratifying to see the men learn how to love.

Levi & Jillian

So glad Levi & Jillian got their second chance at love. Single dad Levi was such a great dad putting his son before himself. When he reconnects with Jillian their chemistry is hotter than ever. Enjoyed it.

Single dad hero romance with heart!

3.5 stars! I always enjoy Melanie Harlow reads so when I saw Some Sort of Love, one of her backlist reads, I decided to jump in! This one has a ton of tropes I love: small town, single dad, and second chance-ish after a hookup in the past.

The story starts off with Jillian getting ready for her sister’s wedding and being tired of constantly getting asked where her date is. She’s 30 and a successful pediatrician doctor who is happy with her life, but she’s also starting to get lonely as she sees her sisters coupling it up. She runs into Levi at the wedding, he’s an architect who recently designed her new brother-in-law’s cabin, and they hooked up in the past! Levi and Jillian shared a quickie back in college a little over a decade ago and find some heat still between them now. Levi is now a busy, single dad to his 8-year old son who has autism, but he’s wanting to make time to Jillian in his life!

This was a fun audio and I really liked seeing the passion between Jillian and Levi! This started off really strong and definitely pulled me in. Levi does struggle with trying to juggle the time with caring for his son and finding room for Jillian in their lives too, without upsetting the routine his son is used to. I liked how Jillian was considerate of this, but also not willing to be less-than in his life either. This was definitely solid, just not a fav for me from this author.

A SWEET, FUN, HOT & ROMANTIC LOVE STORY

Jillian is at her sister's wedding... watching and feeling the love that her two sister's have with their partners and she can't help but be a wee bit jealous and envious of what they clearly have. She's a 30 yr old Paediatric Doctor who fantasizes and dreams of finding love but in the meantime her battery operated best friend, and the thoughts of her College one time hookup with a drool-worthy guy, will just have to do. Then she turns around and crashes into a man mountain... a handsome sexy man mountain who she's intimately familiar with - Levi her College hook up.... and, just like that,11 years melted away.

Instant connection, instant chemistry and everything between them clicked straight off and it isn't long before they're whispering sweet words and getting hot n heavy.... but Levi, apart from being an Architect, has an 8 yr old son with autism who is the center of his life - leaving only one night a week for Jillian. At first it's all flirty and fine with sexting, dirty talk and stolen sex filled nights but, after a while, it's obvious to Jillian that Levi has a lot of insecurities and, no matter what she does, he is determined to keep the two parts of his life separate. Jillian tries to give Levi time and be understanding but after the intensity, the passion and the "I love you's" doesn't change a thing and Levi still keeps her apart from his 'other' life she finally reaches a crossroads.... and she knows that she can't stay on the road that leads to nowhere.

Loveable main characters who are, despite everything, totally devoted to each other, interesting and emotional plot that has depth and growth, great secondary characters made up of both families and all the up-to-date news from Skylar and Sebastian (book 1) and Natalie and Miles (book 2). This was a bitter-sweet romance, two people head over heels about each other but circumstances and a Father's misplaced insecurities kept them from reaching the HEA until......? Dual POV's, great narration, sweet character driven plot and could be a standalone.

Worth a credit? If the Happy Crazy Love series really has to end then what better way to do it than with this sexy 5 star listen created by it's gifted Author Melaine Harlow and the icing on the already delicious cake was the talented voices of Nelson Hobbs and Lucy Malone. Very creditworthy - as are books 1 and 2.

A romance with attachments

I know I put three stars for story, it was good, but I think it could have been better.

Let’s start off by saying the portrayal of Levi as the single dad of a special needs (autistic) child was pretty on point. I have some experience with this subject and felt that Melanie Harlow did an excellent job with it.

The story is basically a second chance with a couple that hooked up one night many years ago in college. Jillian is now a doctor and Levi is a full time single dad with a job that allows him the freedom to care for his son.

Their reunion is filled with memories and their attraction strong. My issue was with how Levi chose to deal with things. He definitely had walls, but there’s only so many times I could deal with Jillian holding out. She has the patience of a saint. I still liked how fully aware she was about this package deal. You don’t see that a lot with parents that have autistic kids. She was all in.

It’s just Levi made it an issue a little too much for me.

Nelson Hobbs and Lucy Malone with great. I haven’t listened to a lot of their narrations, but they did well. Enjoyed them quite a bit.
