Publisher's summary

When her six-year-old nephew vanishes from a neighborhood carnival, Aubrey Lynd's safe, snow-globe world fractures; it shatters when the FBI's investigation raises questions about her own family that Aubrey can't answer.

Aubrey picks apart the inconsistencies to expose the first of many lies: a ransom note - concealed from the FBI - with a terrifying and impossible ultimatum. Aubrey doesn't know what to believe or whom to trust. The abduction is clearly personal - but why would someone play a high-stakes game with the life of a child? The more she presses for answers, the more Aubrey is convinced that her mother is hiding something.

Desperate to save her young nephew, Aubrey must face harsh truths and choose between loyalty to her family and doing the right thing. And she'd better hurry, because vengeance sets its own schedule, and time is running out.

Blah

Hated the narrator. She grated on my nerves, especially when she would draw out the name Diana. Just couldn't stand listening to her. The story was boring. So very boring. No suspense, nothing exciting. It took me countless hours to finish because I kept falling asleep.

Reminds me of a bad soap opera.

During my whole listening time of this book there was something off. The story was fairly engaging, but something was just 'off'. Two chapters before the end and it hit me! Between the snooty accent of the reader and the storyline, I had been listening to a 1980s SOAP OPERA. So, decent plot, poor narration.. Three stars and a shrug of
the shoulders. It wasn't a total waste. I did get some housework done, just like my Mom did when she watched her soaps.

Someone must die

The story was okay and for me the narrator sounded like a 70 year old woman instead of a person in their late 20s. Overall I did enjoy the story.

mama

It may just be me but when a adult woman calls her mother mama and you hear it a billion times it just irks me

Grandma Needs To Go!!!

Would you try another book from Sharon Potts and/or Elizabeth Wiley?

No, I wasn't impressed by her story, I felt she kept adding things just to fill up the pages.
The narrator needs to learn how to pause, use inflections etc...

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Read the block I wrote above!!!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Elizabeth Wiley?

Anyone but her!

Do you think Someone Must Die needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, because the whole thing should be rewritten!!!!

Any additional comments?

Sorry not happy about the book. Maybe, someone else will be. My *** rating. was a gift.

irritating

the story itself was not engaging but the constant use of "mama" over and over in the closing chapters irritated me to no end

Don't bother!

Not only was the storyline bad but the performance was worse. I only finished it because I paid for it. Avoid avoid avoid

One of the most boring and silly stories ever

I was really annoyed by this story from the beginning. The grandmother, Di, was one of the most self absorbed narcissists of all time and I am just not in the mood for one of those right now. So I was listening along hoping she would get locked up.

The story was pedestrian and tedious. Facts were hidden to keep any mystery reader from figuring it out though I had the culprit pretty much all along.

Aggravating story to listen to. I hope I had this through kindle unlimited and didn;t actually pay for it.
