About this listen

Known to the K2 Special Services team as Romeo, ex-Navy SEAL Jake Buchanan may spend his downtime living up to his nickname, but there's one woman who sets his heart racing like no one else can: Maria Kincaid. Unfortunately, his boss - her brother - has made it crystal clear that she's off-limits. Jake doesn't do commitment, while Maria is the type of woman who deserves a promise of forever. Yet Maria finds herself drawn to Jake, the man who stares at her with a desire she wishes he'd act on.

Still haunted by her horrific childhood, Maria goes searching for the father she's never met - and stumbles into a nightmarish experience. With her life in grave danger, she reaches out to Jake, her brother's second-in-command. Jake figures he can help Maria without giving in to temptation. But some things are easier said than done.

Ok, it still disappointing

This is the 9th Sandra Owens book I’ve downloaded, and the first that disappointed. The first 17 chapters are 80% sexual angst, and little plot line. The action finally picked up 2/3’s into the book, and I am glad I stuck it out, but hoping the last one, “Falling For Her” will be more like the “K-9 Brothers” books (They were my first S. O. Books, and they’re wonderful!)

Enjoyable!

I love the characters in this book. They are strong and loyal and lovable. Each story focuses on one member of the K2 team. The story has mystery, good action scenes, and enjoyable character interactions. The narration is pretty good.

Thoughts

I thought the story was good but the narration was not. I can't explain exactly what it was.

Good story line

Wish they had a different male voice because Jake had such a gruff voice at times and then not so gruff. Was so sad about his friend, don’t want to give anything away. Have family in the military who have lost friends in battle and it sucks. The worst in fact for it never leaves you. Jake’s way of dealing with it was spot on and loved the fact that all the crew helped him through it. Especially Maria.

Mixed feelings

I enjoyed the story, but was frustrated with the narration of it. The narrator telling the story and Maria’s voice did not add to the book at all. He sounded too old and although he may have work well in other books, he did not fit in with this one. Her voice was horrible through most of it.

Great Series

I liked this story a lot. I only have 1 complaint. The hero tries to drive his love away with some pretty harsh words. She forgave him too easily, imo. She should have made him grovel!!

Enjoyable story but terrible narration

The story was entertaining but I hated the female narration- too nasal and just plain annoying.
