I loved all the books in the series. Can't wait for more. Narrator did a pretty good job.

AWESOME! Murder, mystery, heated checkered past...

Any additional comments?

Great listen! Had just enough mystery to a murder that was witnessed...sort of....
What exactly did Cameron see and not see, does the killer know, can the FBI protect her while they search? But of all the questions.....why oh why did the FBI have to assign Jack to this case...of all cases...why does the man who told the world I had my head up my *bleep* have to be the one to keep my safety, and truly...will he even try?

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this series!

This FBI themed series is part suspense, part romance and written with the kind of fast paced, witty dialogue that aspiring writers like myself would love to emulate! It's sassy intrigue with characters you're routing for until the very end. Something About You is the first in this series an features US Assistant District Attorney Cameron Lynde, who witnesses, sort of, a murder is definitely my favorite in the series. You don't necessarily have to read them in order but I highly recommend it.

I was already a fan of narrator Karen White and she doesn't disappoint!

Smart, sassy, suspenseful and sexy

What did you love best about Something About You?

I loved that this book was equal parts solve-the-crime and romance. The two aspects were played off of each other well, while each inching towards their resolutions piece by piece. And I liked that the characters were well grounded, with good backstory, and believable actions based on their personalities - progressing from combative to cooperative to in bed - rather than too-rushed plots I've read where the combativeness turned immediately to lust and characters hopped into bed too quickly.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Something About You?

My favorite moment was when he deftly guided her (in a stunning dress) from the wedding reception with the comment that Everyone in the room knew where they were going...

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

She narrated beautifully, with distinct and consistent voices, male and female. I never had trouble following dialogue.

Something about Julie James’ Books

Something About You: FBI-US Attorney Series, Book 1 was my first Julie James read, and I found it to be entertaining, and credit worthy.

In fact, I believe it to be credit worthy enough to take advantage of the Semi-Annual Sale and purchase the next 3 books in the series. I am currently on book 2.

The story is full of action and romance with a protective FBI leading man who captures the heart of the Assistant US Attorney, Cameron Lynde.

This is not a 5 Star Book in my opinion, but it is a solid, enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book

I bought this book a while ago and it had been languishing in my library. I had never read any of this author, but I think I remember the blurb looking interesting.

I started listening and was hooked within 5 min. It is a fairly standard book for its genre, but the writing was excellent and kept me hooked for the length of the book. It made me chuckle frequently, and unlike many books in this genre I did not once think the hero or heroine (or even the bad guy) was an idiot and wonder why I was listening to a story about idiots. Do you know how infrequently one can say that about a genre book?

Anyway, I have already got as many of this author's books from the library as I can, and will definitely read her books as they come out if her other books reflect the quality of this one.

Started off great, last third so-so

The first half of this audio had me listening and occassionally laughing. I was interested. Then about 75% through I realized that though I had it on, I wasn't paying any attention. The last third or so was okay, but very predictable. The verbal banter, suspense and sexual tension wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster plot. On the positive side, the legal profession setting was reasonably accurate.

Garb That Stallion

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Julie James has great dialogue you do not want to miss.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Something About You?

lots of them. Secondary characters witty comments are what you will love and it makes this story fun.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

Karen's voice is not the best, but she has good timing and this makes up for it. This book is #1 of the three. #3 voice was weak, but again dialogue makes up for it.

Any additional comments?

this is not a real mystery, but a romantic story with mystery timing. You will listen to it in one day, I did.Enjoy. Now I start #2 book as #1 and #3 were recommended and I listened in that order.

Sweet and Fluffy - an enjoyable listen

Is Something About You great fiction? Definitely not. But it is a well-written chick fic featuring an intelligent woman and an interesting mystery - worth a few hours of relaxation and enjoyment. The first 10 minutes of evesdropping on someone else having hotel sex is a bit off-putting, but if you can get beyond that the result is worthwhile.

Awesome book..

Any additional comments?

I really didn't know whether or not I'd like this book. It had great reviews but I was a little wary since this is not my usual genre. Needless to say, I'm so glad I took the chance. I absolutely loved every minute of this book. Loved Jack and Cameron. Loved Dillon. And I just hated Cameron's boss (not mentioning any names here), such a creep. Hated the bad guy, too. And I just loved the laugh out loud moments. Great sexual tension and nice, nice, nice sex. I can certainly see myself buying all the books in this series.

As to the narrator: She did a wonderful job. She had the perfect voice for this book. I would definitely listen to her again and again.
