About this listen

Charlotte Williams a 42-year-old widow is heading out for a medical mission trip to Guatemala. She meets a group of Marines at the airport prior to leaving. She hasn't even considered dating since the death of her husband, but when she meets the tall, dark, and handsome Marine, she begins to reconsider her celibacy; however she won't ever see him again, right? She doesn't even know his name.

Jordan "Hawk" Jackson is a 46-year-old Marine Special Ops soldier and leader of his team. He has been burned badly in his first marriage being left to raise his son on his own 16 years ago. He had felt something was missing in his life but couldn't put his finger on it until he met a beautiful stranger in an airport cafe while traveling for a new mission. He suddenly wanted to have this woman, but he didn't even know her name. He wouldn't ever see her again anyway, right?

Destiny had other plans. While raiding a suspected compound of an evil drug lord in the Colombian jungle, Hawk finds Charlotte beaten and bound lying on a jungle path, thrown out like trash. His protective instincts kick in and he is determined to keep her safe no matter the cost.

Contains mature themes.

Ummm Wth!

Seriously I was a bit confused why the heroine was portrayed as such a weak character, he babies her throughout the book from bathing her to buckling her seatbelt, she’s 42 but it’s like she’s 22 when a man she barely knows makes all her decisions, and sorry the narrators were ick especially the female she whispers through the whole book 😂

A Good Story

This is a hard review to write. I enjoyed the story and the plot. The one thing that bothered me was just as the story is moving along, the author throws in another love scene. I get the couple is hot for each other as they constantly keep saying that during the book. But after awhile, I just wanted to story to move along because you just know that the bad guy has got to do something. The performers are good but I kept wondering during the story why the girl didn't do the girl's part all the time and the guy would do his part during the story. It is broken up that when the guy is speaking his part, he does all the parts. The same with the woman. So what you get is a woman doing the voice for the man and the next time the man is doing his part and then he does the woman's part. It got confusing. But all in all, I enjoyed the book.

Did not care for the female narration.

I love this audio. Enjoy the references to Susan Stoker seal team. New author for me. Looking forward to other books. Hope they use another female narrator.

Boring!

The storyline sounded good, but it ended up being a saccharine sappy story. No action/adventure.or maybe it was the narrator for charlotte did not fit the part. It wouldve been better if Jack Stella had read the entire story. Hopefully the rest of the series is more action. Or different female narrator.

Charlotte

I love the story, the male narrator Jack Stella I did not like. But I love that Angela Rush is working with Susan Stoker. I also love the way she commends and shows (as well as Susan Stoker) what the dependents have to deal with at home. I am was both Dependent wife and Active Duty. Thanks for making sure our loved ones are commended for their work and support.

The overall story was a good one.

Really disliked the male narration. He was like he was just reading word by word. The female took a little getting use to but she was not as bad as the male. Too bad since the story was a pretty good one.

difficult to listen to female narrator

the story was fine. but it was difficult to finish due to the narrative of the female main character. sorry, I am not a fan of the southern accent BUT it is worse when tis narrator seemed to do a half hesitation between each word she spoke

The narratives are lifeless. No feeling. This book could have been a 5 star. It is read so dry
