About this listen

"I'm Madison Avery, in charge of heaven's hit squad... and fighting it all the way."

When Madison died the night of her prom, she knew her life would never be the same. Now she has a powerful amulet, a team of rogue angels by her side, and the ability to flash forward into the future to see the shape of destiny. And of course, now she's finally with Josh, a perfect boyfriend who doesn't even mind that she's dead.

But being dead has its disadvantages, too. Madison feels caught between the light and the dark, and between her real life and her timekeeper status. When she has the opportunity to get her body back - to be alive again - she faces her most difficult decision yet. If she claims it, she could return to being a normal girl and have a chance at a real relationship with Josh. But would having the one thing she wants most in the world also mean giving up everything she's worked so hard for?

good for the preteens

I screamed this book series for my 11 year old. she's an advanced reader and able to pick up a more mature themes so I wanted to be careful to make sure that the book was appropriate for her age. the storyline moves quickly and the content involved well slightly dark I believe is adequate for her age group.

Fun and different

I enjoyed a different take on reapers. I love Kim Harrison and the Rachel Morgan series.

Pass on this series

This series is more teenie appropriate. The characters are whinnying about high school issues and mulling over the ???right thing??? to do for pages. I love Kim Harrison???s Hollows series. I thought this would be just as good. I was wrong. She must have written this because she need fast cash and was counting on her name recognition to sell it. The sad part was I purchase the series because of her name and it was a waste of money and time.
If you want a series where a young high school girl moons over a boy who did not notice her when she was alive and she is now dead buy it. If you want a series where her fate is to be the death angle and she does not like her job while waiting she moons over her high school love buy it. And of course with high school stories she does get his attention and they fight the good fight together. yuch
