About this listen

What if a man loved so deeply and so selfishly, he was willing to do whatever it took - including murder -- to reincarnate his lost lover? And what would happen if he thought his true love had returned to this earth, without any knowledge of who she truly was? What would happen next?

High school student Ann Lippens is about to find out....

Cody said, "You were innocent when I met you. Innocent when I lost you. You're innocent now.""I'm not exactly innocent."

"You're pure."

Pure? Ann thought. What's that supposed to mean? I'm a virgin?

Then she wondered, What if I wasn't?

Enjoyable romantic mystery for the young adult set

Any additional comments?

Something Wicked by Renee Harrell is an enjoyable romantic mystery for the young adult set. I always enjoy a good ghost story and this definitely filled the bill. The plot is engaging and there is enough suspense to keep the reader’s attention until the end of the book.

The characters are believable and easy to like. Ann and her best friend Kim have a lot in common with normal teenaged girls – neither are in the popular “in” crowd, but at the same time they are not unpopular.

What I liked most about the book is the message it sends to young girls - don't set aside your values and beliefs for a boy, and don’t change yourself merely to please someone else.

LC Kane's portrayal of the different characters was very engaging. I’d listen to another one of her narrations any time!

Suspensful Teen Paranormal

Would you listen to Something Wicked again? Why?

Yes I would listen again, I enjoyed LC Kane's portrayal of the different characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character Ann was my favorite character, I found her believable and easy to empathize with.

What about LC Kane’s performance did you like?

I really liked how she portrayed all the different characters in the book it really made you want to listen to the next chapter immediately.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end was very suspenseful, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would happen.

Any additional comments?

The only thing I wasn't fond of is the chapter where Eric is talking to his grandmother, without giving any spoilers I just don't like when things aren't resolved by the end of the book and this part is just left open-ended.
