worksheet layout

It was okay, and sparks a few ideas, but a few times throughout, the speaker sounded like they were trying not to yawn.
Each chapter ending is a good time to pause to reflectb rather tha ideally listening straight through, at least thats hos it felt to me.

A good synopsis of a detailed process.

It gave me a good start. It also provides a lot of paths for me to follow to increase my success. I always used to just write some lyrics but then the process just sort of dropped right there, now I know where to go next to finish a song. Good recommendations given for recording software.

A book about how to get started

I like this book as a short, concise overview of the things that one needs to do; research etc.- to get started writing songs. There is one theory mistake - the bass clef mnemonic she used ( every good boy deserves fudge ) should be for the trouble clef.

There isn't too much information in this book. There are a couple of interesting tid bits though.

Nothing but trite generalities

This book is a kindergarten look at songwriting that has no analysis...it really just tells you to listen to music and teach yourself.

Nothing of value here

Beginners? This is a book for someone who has never heard music before. Everything that was said was like ‘yeah, duh’. There was nothing insightful about this book, or helpful in any way. Worthless purchase.
