About this listen

Edie Kendall lives a busy life in Boston, Massachusetts, doing her best to care for her widowed father. But when he tells her he’s marrying her off to a wealthy but unethical businessman twice her age, she is forced to flee. There’s nothing left but to start over somewhere new.

When she answers an advert for a mail order bride in Fort Riggins, Montana, she allows herself to hope she’s about to meet the man of her dreams. But Curtis Emerson, the man she’s agreed to marry, has no intention of marrying; indeed, he has no idea Edie exists. Thirteen-year-old Sophia Emerson has written the advert on behalf of her widowed father.

With Sophia’s scheme cartwheeling out of control, Edie’s left to pick up the pieces of her shattered plans. Meanwhile, it’s all she can do to fight off her strong attraction for Curtis. Does Sophia’s outrageous plan have any chance of working out, or is it too much to hope for?

Interested read

Interested plot, good portraying of characters, too short just start listening and it’s over. Would be better if longer

A Girls Wish

A Wonderful story and a fantastic narrator. All Sophia wants is a new Mother and a wife for her Dad, Curtis. When she places an ad in the papers for a Mail Order Bride and someone accepts, she is so happy. The problem is that she did it without her Father's permission. Edie just wants to leave her Father and Boston behind her. She accepts the mail order bride ad and takes off to Montana. Of course, when she arrives she finds out the bad news. Now what can she do. Edie refuses to go back to Boston, let's say she can't go back to Boston. Can they both get past what Sophia has done to them both. Light hearted story.

Sweet

This is one of the sweetest romances I've ever listened to. Sophia thinks it is time for her father to move on and time for her to have a new mother that she desperately wants. However, her method of making it happen she really makes a disastrous decision. This all has an element of humor which her father Curtis seems to fail to see. It makes this a delightful story.

The narration is so good the listener is drawn to the characters and their experiences. Ms. Kisko always delivers a wonder performance.

I requested this audiobook from the narrator and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Sophia is absolutely endearing - lovely book

I really enjoyed this book. You spend a lot of time with the titular character Sophia, a 13 year old girl, who just wants someone for her widowed father. Sophia is absolutely endearing who means so well - and creates some chaos with her good intentions.

A sweet story, well and very lovingly narrated by Sarah Kisko, who’s narration fits the wholesome story very well.

I enjoyed it!

Sweet western romance

Sophia tried to do her best to make her father happy by ordering him a mail order bride. Her misguided good intentions got her in trouble and left Edie, the prospective bride, unsure where her new life would lead once Curtis, Sophia's father, explains that he has no intention of marrying again. However Edie and Curtis find that they are the perfect match in the end.

Lovely

Loved the story, loved the characters. I gave the story 4 stars only because of the abrupt change in feelings in such a short amount of time. I would have liked the ending to build a little more before it ended. However, given that it is a very short story, it was very well done!

Delightful Western Mail Order Bride Story♡♡♡♡♡

Sophie, at 13, misses having a mom and worries about her hard working Montana rancher dad. So Sopie, unbeknownst to her Dad, invites a Bostonian named Edie, to come marry her father....without Edie knowing it is all the dream of a 13 year old girl. Well narrated, this is a predictable but thoroughly enjoyable Old West mail order story.
