About this listen

This contemporary look at the seventh-century classic The Ladder of Divine Ascent brilliantly illuminates the enduring relevance of centuries-old spiritual concepts. Using real-life stories and experiences, and incorporating all of the major religious traditions, Beck shows how the 30 steps lead to a deeper understanding of the ideas that guide our journeys, provide for our souls, and draw us closer to God.

Beginning each chapter with an illustrative anecdote, Beck explains the significance of each of the steps, discussing its importance in Christian tradition and offering thoughtful, inspiring ways to incorporate it into present-day spiritual journeys.

This book is life altering!

These thirty steps have become what will be the foundation for the rest of my life. My only regret is that they've come at a relatively late stage in my life. Non the less, I believe these can be transformative at any age.

God bless you Father Beck!!!

Worth multiple replays

I will listen to this again. It's got a lot to it, and the Ladder of Divine Descent is not a totally easy read.

Hindu Apologics

It is amazing that "Ladder of Divine Ascent" could be so diluted with Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic philosophy that it could cause one of the most important works in Christian history to falsely appear repulsive...

It is psychologically painful to see a Christian Clergyman place other religions on par with the religion the Christ established.

like fingernails on a chalkboard...
