About this listen

Tensions are rising in the Gladium Province. The boundary between humans and Morgons has begun to blur. While the human aristocracy strives to maintain distance between their daughters and the dragon-hybrid race, fate has other plans.

As the daughter of the corporate king, Jessen Cade is duty-bound to honor her arranged marriage to a man she detests. Feeling trapped by family duty and a loveless future, she longs for more, straying to the Morgon side of the city.

Lucius Nightwing is the eldest son of the powerful Morgon clan, and the greatest enemy of Jessen's father. When a barroom brawl thrusts Jessen into his arms, his dragon roars to the surface, craving to sate his carnal hunger in the brown-eyed beauty. The beast in Lucius recognizes her as his own, even if the man refuses to admit the truth.

Contains mature themes.

The story was okay for the most part, but than it had a shorter version at the end of the story.

That it’s a fairytale

The story has a great deal of potential. It just seems to end leaving so much about the two main characters unanswered. It is a sweet love story.

Left incomplete

I didn’t want to review but it wouldn’t let me out sothisis what I wrote

Cross built an intriguing world of dragons and humans. They are living in a precariously sensitive environment with tension between the races. Interested to see more of this world.

Intriguing World.

This was a good story. I love how the dragon knows who his mate is. Wish it would have been longer. The narrator did an excellent job. All 3 books are good this was my favorite hope there will be more.

Enjoyed this story!

The one that started them all! I enjoyed this look into the Morgon/human world.

Wonderful story

Yikes. That was astoundingly bad.
Was there anything remotely original?
More F bombs than magic.
Another broody billionaire lusting after a sheltered socialite.
And that nasal, robo-narration? It sucked everything from my romance loving soul.

However, I enjoyed the author’s Stay a Spell series, and had already bought all three of these,
so I moved onto books 2 and 3. Lo and behold, I had fun with them. Go figure.

Soulfire? More like soul sucking

Just a falling in love story, no intrigue. I thought the world building was good but there has to be more for me.

Too simplistic

I can’t stand whiny women and that’s all Jess is. She can’t stand up for herself only cares about her father’s power. She has no backbone and I couldn’t even finish the book because it just irritated me.

Sucked

This story is so bad. The entire this is so cliche I could predict what every scenario was. I was hoping the author would break out of the stereotypical weak willed, weak minded, and weak in body FMC, and over bearing unloving parents but they didn't before the cliche announcement. No twists, no surprises. The FMC and MMC have very limited page space together and arr not deep or moveing.

really bad
