About this listen

The second book in a trilogy about three "brothers" and the girls they must protect. Kade Kingsley is sick of hiding out in the middle of nowhere. He should be having a good time, partying and living it up, not playing bodyguard to his best friend's runaway witness girlfriend. When he decides to leave the mountainside he's called home for the last two months, he promises to be careful. He knows the stakes are high, and he knows that the makeshift family he's leaving behind is counting on him to come back. What he doesn't count on is getting mugged and left for dead. And he definitely doesn't count on being rescued by a girl with secrets of her own...secrets that rival his. As Julienne Bishop, a down-on-her-luck girl hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend, nurses Kade back to health, an uneasy bond forms between them. They need each other, even if they don't realize it, and even if they have a hard time accepting it. Because danger is coming at them from both sides, and they must figure out if they can trust each other. Before it's too late.

A good book makes you want to live in the story. A great book gives you no choice. Especially when Tor Thom and Charley Ongel brought it to life. Loved it!

Let this great listen speak to you

I've listened to both books in the series so far and they both will tear up your heart and put it back together with love . You meet Kade in book 1 . This is his story .
Hero is Kade. Heroine is Jules
Kade is the type that likes one night stand , he doesn’t want anything to tie him down . But he slowly grows up mind wise and changes.
Julie’s has had a hard time back home. Her issues are two, no it’s really three , her parents , her boyfriend that likes to beat her and her pregnancy. Her ex boyfriend doesn’t want her to keep it and tie him down . Julie’s becomes a cook which saves her spirit
Julie’s saves Kade one night when he is lying on the ice beaten up . That night changes Kade , makes him realize he needs to know Julie’s more . Grab it and find out who and why was Kade beaten up

You can’t get any better then the performance team of Tor and Charley. It’s like music to your ears

"Well Written"

This was a good story. Well written and I actually chose it due to the narration style. I do believe that this would appeal to the young adult focus group. Even in saying that, the story was gripping and very entertaining.

The suspense continues!

Book two of this trilogy continues on with Kade being unhappy stuck in seclusion, trying to keep Ana safe. He decides to leave and finds himself settling into a new town and falling for a new girl, Jules. Jules comes with her own baggage. Just when you think things are going well, disaster strikes for both Kade and Jules forcing the two to flee together back to the cabin. Bringing Jules back is a risk to their safety, and Jules’s pregnancy is going to cause worry , but with Trey, Ana and Riley on their side, this family is strong and willing to face any danger that may occur. And the question is when will it? This book ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for this conclusion with Riley’s story!

Kade and Jules have a connection the narrators make you feel, from their passion to their fear. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel continue this NA romantic suspense narration with the amount of angst and emotion for these new adults to be believable in their quest to keep themselves safe. Love th

Another Good Sequel

Ok So I really enjoyed this book so much .. it's all about the meaning of family and true love :D
to be honest I didn't like Kade from the first book but he really redeemed himself in his story .. Juliane is alright but I still don't understand her insta love thing when she saw Kade for the first time .. overall it was an enjoyable read and now to the third book ..
MAAANN things are getting serious now :D

The narrators are the same from the first book and they were really good .. let's see about the third book

very unrealistic

male narrator messes up a few times in the beginning with the voice he uses for the character. there is even a part where he catches it says "oh its ..." then repeats the line using the right voice

H is horrible. h is needy and wants someone to take care of her. was hoping she would realize she can be independent some and still have a partner.

Seriously?

I've gotta say, pretty surprised about all the high ratings. The monster voice used for males in Jules's chapters was red flag #1. Red flag #2 was the term "Jap" being used. (I do acknowledge that it was said in the context of quoting a racist man, but that does not make it any less jarring. The explanation for her exboyfriend's father being being prejudice against Japanese people was Pearl Harbor. This story takes place in modern times. I can safely assume that he was not alive during the 1940's and he was not saturated by anti-Japanase propaganda. Tony's continued back and forth with her about her race was really confusing. If he is that concerned about appeasing his father, why did he get involved with Jules in the first place? Next, the pro-life rhetoric was heavy-handed. Like really heavy-handed. There were explanation points used when she had mental conversations about it being a fetus v. a baby, it having a heartbeat, and other things related to termination. People are entitled to different opinions, but the harsh wording framed it as though the other side was morally wrong. Then there was the hype around hockey in Reno, which is in Nevada. The rink was an outdoor one that Kade saw from the road. Again, Reno is in the desert. I couldn't get past chapter 7. Good thing I was able to listen to it via the romance package.
