About this listen

Magical break-ins abound...

The two nearby stores owned by supernaturals are broken into. The Fix ‘n’ Find, my store, is not. What I have instead are suspicious magical handprints on the front windows. Combine that with a weird set of glasses that let the wearer see every type of magic and we have a serious conundrum. Luckily, my ex-fiancé Violetta, is a powerful witch and willing to help me figure out what could possibly be going on. Find out what some magical items and good old-fashioned spell work can uncover in the Spectacle Stealing Supernatural.

A Bite-Sized Paranormal Treat

So, this book started off with the character of Blake, who I really like and wanted to hear more from in the first book (Green Goo Goblin). That was a good hook for me. :)
Can we talk about the characterization in these books? Like, right off the bat I’m delighted by the strong personalities and fun differentiation between the characters in this series (you’re gonna love the brownie that comes in at the beginning, she’ll remind you of someone you love to hate, or hate to love, or both).
Also, this book has an excellent puppy in it who behaves in a perfectly delightful puppy way, and what could possibly be bad about that? I love Bailey.
I find that I’m really, really enjoying this series. It’s so immersive!
The narrator, Mr. Perez, is a huge part of the reason that the book is so immersive. The audio performance is exceptional, and I read like three audiobooks per week on a slow week, so. His work on this book in particular, which is so particularly vibrant, makes me wonder if he’s ever considered narrating comic books or graphic novels for the visually impaired, I think he’d be great at it. It's the vivacity of the narration that I think I'm talking about here, does that make sense?

Great follow up to the first!

I really enjoyed this story as much as the first. For fans of Charline Harris and Jim Butcher

Entertaining Story

This was a nice read/listen but not as good as Book 1. I am going to continue this Series and hope the author writes the next book like book one. Narrator does a good job and I really like the Scottish Brouge.
