I love a well written fantasy story. This is one such story. I am excited to read the remaining books in this series and just hope they can capture me in the same way this first book did. This is a recommended book in my opinion.

Okay so at first when I started listening to it the first 39 mins I was like a not that great but then when I got into it it got better the last chapter had a nice twist to it and makes a great continuation to more books this is the starter book after u get done with it u will want to listen more

Creative plot, interesting characters and a storyline that held my attention. I found myself wanting to read the rest of the series before I had finished it. The characters drew me in and I cared about them.

Intriguing first book in a paranormal series

This is a good book, but it did start out slowly. You have to get through her starting school, making friends and then finally meeting her paranormal studies professor, before things pick up and really start to get good. After that, the story comes alive.

That all said, look at the school part as not only an introduction to our current and future main characters but also a timeline to get to know them. We learn during this time that Jess is not a wimpy whiny girl, but someone with strong ideals. And she is not a unnecessary risk taker you see in other young females lead. You know the one that suddenly become unrealistically in charge and super human like. Jess is way more normal and like what a 17/18 year old would be like.

Overall, this was a great starting point for a new series. I am looking forward to the next two books.

I agree with most that the narrator is good. Mastering those accents (so sorry, but yes all of them) would make you AMAZING! :-)

I’m not much on reading, so I I tried audible. It is definitely different and since I’m alone during the day and have no distractions. This story and the characters were easy to get into and keep listening day after day. It had to be a good story to capture and keep me interested otherwise I’m sure I wouldn’t of made it and moved on. So, I would recommend reading or listening to this one if your into paranormal.
