About this listen

Stone Barrington’s newest client does not seem the type to bring mayhem in his wake. A polite, well-deported gentleman, he comes to Stone seeking legal expertise on an unusual - and potentially lucrative - dilemma. Stone points him in the right direction and sends him on his way, but it’s soon clear Stone hasn’t seen the end of the case. Several people are keenly interested in this gentleman’s activities and how they may relate to a long-ago crime...and some of them will stop at nothing to find the information they desire.

On a hunt that leads from Florida’s tropical beaches to the posh vacation homes of the Northeast, Stone finds himself walking a tightrope between ambitious authorities and seedy lowlifes who all have the same prize in their sights. In this cutthroat contest of wills, it’s winner-takes-all...and Stone will need every bit of his cunning and resourcefulness to be the last man standing.

Easy summer beach reading~

I found this to be light entertainment that was engaging but required no thought - a nice blend of plot twists and comfortable predictability.

Another Great Stone Harrington Book

when I see some of these negative reviews I sometime wonder if we're listening to the same book. This book and the narration was excellent.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It isn't rocket science, but good of kind and entertaining. So Stone is not totally brilliant at all times. That is human nature. All's well that ends well.

God Forgive Me ....

I must have said "Stone is an idiot" 5,000 times during this book. Honestly. Dino saved the book. I mean, I loved it. I love all of the Stone books, but honestly. Stone's an idiot. Mr. Woods is brilliant in weaving the past 27 stories in so fluidly that you'd never miss reading a previous book - you'd always be caught up. And he does it in a way that's not annoying or boring (after hearing it for 28 books). Kukos to Stuart Woods. But still - Stone is an idiot.

As always an expected good time

Any additional comments?

I read some negative reviews on this book before buying it to listen to. I must disagree with those reviews as I found this to be just what I expect for Stone from the author. I found it to be the usual jaunt of misadventures, sex, and conspicuous consumption I have come to expect and look forward to. The characters are quite likable and I find the narrator wonderful for the tone of this series.
