About this listen

Many unanswered questions remain about the terrible Eugenics Wars that raged on Earth during the 1990s, an apocalyptic conflict that brought civilization to the brink of a new dark age. Centuries later, as Capt. James T. Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise are forced to defend a colony of genetically enhanced humans against Klingon aggression and sabotage, Kirk must probe deeper into the past - and into the glory days of one of the greatest adversaries he has ever faced.

1992. Almost 20 years ago, Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln, undercover operatives for an unknown alien civilization, failed to prevent the Chrysalis Project from creating an entire generation of supermen and women. Now the children of Chrysalis are adults, and rapidly demonstrating that superior abilities spawn superior ambition.

Perhaps the most formidable of this new breed of supermen is the charismatic Khan Noonien Singh. Head of a vast global conspiracy, Khan's power stretches across a quarter of the planet. Khan dreams of leading his fellow superhumans to complete and total domination of the world.

But several of his gene-engineered brothers and sisters have equally grandiose visions for the future, visions that recognize no one but themselves as supreme ruler. Gary Seven and Roberta watch in horror as the children of Chrysalis wage a covert war against one another, threatening the safety of millions and the future of the entire world!

Eugenics Wars

Eugenics Wars combines Star Trek lore with current conspiracy theory and Area 51 mythology. It is light, clever and entertaining listening fare.

You will get your money's worth.

As far as the Trek books go, this is one of the better ones. I was was very pleased. The
fact that it was 2 files, and 6 hours long, made it better. The characters are more
developed, and there is more of a journey involved. That's what Star Trek is about, the
Journey. They do a good job of weaving all the Kann history together, as well as making
it an exciting story. The Kann parts are all good. The Kirk parts...... well... putting them
all together, you may get about 20 minutes, and it's just filler to get them to study
Kann's history.
Get it.

Also, get The Genesis Wave 1 & 2 (3 is ohKay, but it has very little to do with the first two.)

Pretty good, worth listening to!

Decent sound effects, well read, and linking past and future Star Trek time zones... Fun

Great Conclusion

it does a great job of setting up what leads to the Space Seed. I wish it covered more of the Euginics War.

Rene Auberjenous was very Good. I want an unabridged story.

A very good listen

The story and performance was very good, I just wish the story was longer.
Over all worth the money, but as I said would it have killed him to write a longer story? Come on man put some guts in it and beef it up. After all it's KHAN!!!

Too short

I purchased this audio book in 2008. It was the first series I bought here on audible. After listening to it again I feel that publishers shouldn’t abridge audio books. I can’t imagine the essence of a 500 page book was captured in 3 hours.
