Publisher's summary

Sleek, swift and deadly, the famed X-Wing fighters have earned their reputation as the Rebel Alliance's ultimate strike force the hard way: first in battle, the last line of defense. Now they must make a deal with the devil herself: an enemy whose ultimate goal is their total annihilation.

It's the kind of mission only Wedge Antilles and the Rogue Squadron would dare to undertake. Against impossible odds, they will stage a daring raid into an enemy stronghold, only to be rescued from certain destruction by an unexpected ally.

Ysanne Isard, the ruthless Imperial commander, has appeared on the scene seemingly from out of nowhere. Now she proposes a most unusual alliance, offering to help Wedge rescue his captured comrades from Imperial Warlord Admiral Krennel's sadistic prison camp.

But her offer is not without a price. Wedge must lead Rogue Squadron in Isard's deadly struggle against an enemy made in her own image. It's an offer Wedge would love to refuse, for Isard is certain to betray them. But how can they leave their comrades at Krennel's mercy? The answer: they can't, even if it means being caught between Krennel's ruthlessness and Isard's treachery.

Star Wars x wing

Was a good listen I wish Disney would reinstate cannon into their books and action series. The old authors are still better than Disney. You should make new audiobooks using cannon

Heald getting better

I actually enjoyed Heald's narration of this book. And the story was quite on point in this book!

Hard to listen to voices w/out Marc Thompson’s voice

Abridged is always a huge let down - you know you’re missing a lot and scenes seem incomplete.

The story itself is okay. I imagine the unabridged version would be much better

It’s very, very hard to enjoy Anthony Herald after just hearing The Hand of Thrawn duology. Marc Thompson’s voicing of Wedge, Corran Horne, Mirax, Booster, Talin Card, etc. are so distinctive and don’t sound like Marc’s narrator voice at all.

Good But Not Great

Decent short story version of the novel. Would have been better if it's unabridged.

Nothing like the book!

When I purchase an audiobook, I do so with the express desire to play it in tandem with reading the kindle book. I prefer audiobooks with Whispersync. That way, what I’m hearing is highlighted as I read the Kindle book. This audiobook is completely different from the actual book. Reading along with the story is impossible as much of the storyline is missing. It jumps over complete sections of the story. This is more of a screenplay or something, not the book I purchased.

What may come as a surprise to the publishers is that I don’t care an iota about the “performance “. Don’t get me wrong, I do. Like to hear the “reader” use different voices for each character, but I don’t care about lifelike sounds or multiple people “performing “.

I buy an audiobook to hear the story read to me. I don’t want them to skip over ANY of the story... otherwise I feel as if I’m hearing a completely different story than what I purchased.

I’m going to try to get my money back!

Outdated recording.

These 3 hour short stories are stupid in my opinion. Why don't you just combine the 8 or so books into 1 or 2 books? (profits im guessing).
This audio book is outdated and needs to be re-done. The background sounds were often times louder then the narrator making his voice difficult to follow.
The story was pretty good though.
