Publisher's summary

This program is read by the author.

A leadership book by former Navy SEAL and New York Times best-selling author Mark Divine, Staring Down the Wolf focuses on harnessing the principles of purpose and discipline in life to achieve success.

What does it take to command a team of elite individuals? It requires a commitment to seven key principles: Courage, Trust, Respect, Growth, Excellence, Resiliency, and Alignment. All of these are present in an elite team which commits to them deeply in order to forge the character worthy of uncommon success.

Retired Navy SEAL Commander, entrepreneur and New York Times best-selling author Mark Divine (founder of SEALFIT, NavySeal.com, and Unbeatable Mind) reveals what makes the culture of an elite team, and how to get your own team to commit to serve at an elite level. Using principles he learned on the battlefield, training SEALs, and in his own entrepreneurial and growth company ventures, Mark knows what it is to lead elite teams, and how easily the team can fail by breaching these commitments.

Elite teams challenge themselves to step up everyday to do the uncommon. Developing the principles yourself and aligning your team around these commitments will allow you to thrive in VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity) environments, no matter your background or leadership experience. Drawing from his 20 years leading SEALs, and 25 years of success and failure in entrepreneurship and 10 years coaching corporate clients, Mark Divine shares a very unique perspective that will allow you to unlock the tremendous power of your team.

A definite eye opener.

I will be applying these techniques to build a better team and not to be complacent in any situation even if it's been repetitive work. Very good book will highly recommend

absolutely solid!

once again, Mark brings uncommon wisdom to us. this book, and much of Mark's work is different from many of the seals that we get a chance to hear from. Mark calls us to look inward, stating that growth should be above achievement. I think that's exactly right. this is definitely a book I'll be recommending.

Unique perspective!

One of the very few books of it's kind that really resonated with me👍 Mark surprisingly, from a military background, gets to the core being of humanity. Thanks for your shared perspective on how to operate effectively with purpose and love in any walk of life.

Super Applicable to REAL Life and Leading

I have read a lot of books on leadership…probably hundreds, most of which fill my office bookshelves. Of all of them there are a handful that have changed my life. I think when it said and done, this will be one of them.
I am kind of a Spec Ops junkie. My admiration for these Warriors would be hard to describe . Though true some of their books have been only marginally helpful (if that). This is not one of those. Practical. Applicable. And yet very insightful. I hope you read this book and find it helps you create teams that change the world.

Excellent

Easy to listen to and follow. Useful and interesting. I liked the story about the woman being the best poacher hunters. Now I feel that I really need to dial in my breathing and meditation practices and take on a material art, as well as become successful in the business world.
