About this listen
You met Achilles and Susanna in book two of the Executioner Knights series - and sparks flew! Now, listen to their endearing and touching love story in Starless!
The third Executioner Knight is in for a world of trouble....
Achilles de Dere is a stubborn knight prone to fighting - anywhere, anytime. If there is a punch to be thrown, it's usually from Achilles. When he first met Susanna de Tiegh, the sparks flew - and not in a good way. Susanna, an accomplished warrior in her own right and an agent for William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, refused to take Achilles’ bullying behavior. Friends feared they would kill one another. But an abject hatred of each other soon turned into something else.
Now, Susanna is all Achilles can think of, even as he goes about his duties for William Marshal. When Susanna discovers that her own brother is involved in a plot against the king, Achilles is sent to help her get to the bottom of the plot. Before he can get to the woman he calls “Sparks”, however, Susanna’s brother realizes she is on to him and sells her off to one of the crown’s greatest enemies to silence her.
Now, Achilles is determined to help the woman warrior who started off as a thorn in his side, but has now become the very air he breathes. It’s a race against time to not only save Susanna, but to stop the plot that threatens to destroy the very fabric of England herself.
As Achilles once said to Susanna, without her in his life, his days are wrought with misery and his nights are starless....

Story
1200 AD - In the time following the death of Richard the Lionheart and the ascension of his brother, John, to the throne of England, a plot against the new king is hatched from an unexpected place - deep within the bowels of The Lateran Palace in Rome. It is rumored that the Pope himself is behind it. It is a plot so dark, and so dastardly, that William Marshal needs men who specialize in dark and dirty games in order to save a king they all hate, yet a king that England desperately needs.

Story
A decorated knight for Richard the Lionheart and an ally of the House of de Lohr, Sir Garret de Moray was a man described as cold, intimidating, foreboding. A man with eyes as black as night. Wonderful addition to the previous books
I loved the power of the love between the two very powerful warriors. The friendships that continue with the warriors is inspirational. Kathryn LeVeque makes you a part of her books.

I was so excited to get this audiobook! Funny how 3 ruthless executioner knights become family and we all eagerly await their stories. Brad Wills, as always has done an amazing job of breathing life into these determined, relentless characters. Sparks is the most amazing, talented female warrior. You can't help but fall into the banter between the characters and their burgeoning respect and unexpected love for one another. I'd give this a 5+ Star rating and tell you to be sure not to miss it. You can listen to, or read this story alone, but it's much more cohesive if you have Books 1 and 2 under your belt first. Great series! Hope they keep going! 💗

Fabulous Story
This has been one of the best stories I have ever read or heard! I heartily recommend it to anyone! KLV and Brad have treated one of the most feared Knights of England with an insight seldom seen even in fiction. I, a dedicated fan of this team, was thoroughly surprised at this story. I laughed, sat on pins and needles and cried tears of frustration, yet I was completely surprised by the ending. The twists and turns of this book will keep you in suspense at every turn. Read and enjoy!

Another great listen by Brad Wills
Every time I listen to a book narrated by Brad Wills I am taken back in time. He is an excellent narrator. The different accents and voices he uses to bring the stories to life are what keep me coming back to his audiobooks.
Kathryn LeVeque did a fantastic job bringing the two main characters together. I laughed, cried and felt their pain at times. I love Achilles and Susanna together. Their chemistry just works!
Don't miss this book. Definitely worth listening to. I generally read along with the narration, I enjoy a book so much more that way.

Brad Wills is the best narrator
I love Kathryn Le Veque's books which usually have a strong woman and brave knight. Brad Will's narration is the best. He is so talented with his rendition of all the voices. I always prefer Brad Wills as the narrator of Le Veque's books. Having listened to many books, the narrator is most important to me because I will not listen to a book unless I like the narrator.

Loved it!
Kathryn never disappoints me with her stories. Achilles was one of the Knights that was called the executions knights. He was a warrior who was harden to the fact that a life could be snuffed out at an instant. He always fought with everything in him. Susanna had trained all of her life to fight in a battle with the best of men. She was tough as nails. Then sparks flew between them! Brad Wills narration of it was perfection! He thrilled me with just his voice and I thought I was watching this fun story in person. I believed I watched it all unfold.

I couldn't finish the book
I couldn't finish this book. Maby becouse of the narration, maby becouse of the story and maby becouse of the combination of them, but I just can't. This is despite the fact that K. L. V includes in my "favorite authors list" . .
