Do yourself a favor and buy it if you are just starting to save and invest!

I bought the actual book, but I didn’t have time to finish it , but I found it good enough to finish it then I purchased the audiobook and listened to it while cleaning out the garage. I don’t know why but there is something about David Bach’s voice that shows he really cares. I love it when the authors read their own book. When the author reads it the passion comes out through the author much more than a narrator’s voice. I understand why people say this book is not for people who have already started saving and investing in 401ks and real estate. This book is for the beginner to investing and real estate. To be honest, the information ( even in the book) is a bit outdated because it was written before the Great Recession and before the gig freelance economy of air Bnb and Uber, but I think he asks the reader some fundamental questions that still hold true such as whether or not they really would hire their own self and whether or not they are really enjoying their work and if not how to change that. I did the mistake of following A different financial guru and paid off my debt first. I felt like I was stuck in bottomless pit mentally for 4 years. What I should have done is listen to Bach’ s advice instead. I would have Made my 403b ( teachers and preachers version of a 401k ) automatic which would have forced me to reduce spending. I would have had a nest egg at least and I’m pretty sure that would have excited me much much more. I am optimistic after listening to this. Thank you David Bach!

Good but overpriced,

this is another by real estate book in a condensed format without the hype of the infomercials. If you've read Dave Ramsey on how to make money in property then you already have everything this book offers.

Rehash of

Some of these motivational speakers have it made. They come up with one idea -- one set of tips and advice -- and one book that makes sense and provides people with useful, inspirational coaching. Then they repackage it over and over again, making more money off of the same exact information. That's what David Bach has done with "Start Late Finish Rich." If you've read "The Automatic Millionaire," you don't need to read this. It's all common sense, and it's nice to get a reminder occasionally, but I find it interesting how this book mirrors the other, including the long and irrelevant chapter at the end on giving to charity and tithing. David is a likeable guy, and he reads the book well -- it isn't boring. But don't buy this book AND "The Automatic Millionaire," because if you have one, you have them both.

Great for beginners but not for established savers

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

David Bach's books are all great. This one is also a good option with lots of plans for those who need to get on the plan and save for retirement. It is geared mostly to those who work a regular job and get a paycheck. It is also geared to those who are a bit older and may not have much if any savings or plan in place
Reading this was part of a class I was taking and because I already have a plan, save a large portion or my income and am also self employed it did not really work for me.
I would say it is more for beginners or those who don't have much savings and need guidance. Also, it is not really geared for a business owner as many of the suggestions are based on company 401k, or how to start a side business for more income.

What aspect of David Bach’s performance would you have changed?

I like it when the author does the audio book, so that part is great. .

Was Start Late, Finish Rich worth the listening time?

Not for me.

Useful information for older people

I enjoyed the automatic millionaire but the principals applied primarily to younger people. I was happy to listen to this. There are many steps you can take after 50 to secure your future according to the author. If you’re starting late, this will give you hope and a lot of ideas.
