About this listen

Not him. Not now. Not the hell again.
But I need a hero fast....

I'm about to go nuclear.
Yet I have to smile and pretend I won't slap him into the next century.
James Nobel and I have history.
The raging hearts, dueling kisses, nights-on-fire kind.
A man like him breaks laws with that suit and that smirk.

So how could I ever forget my first?
Or pelting an Adonis with crumpled love notes in class?
We were young and dumb and lied about forever.
Then he disappeared.

Maybe I always wanted to know why, but not like this.
James, my personal bodyguard.
James, my flipping bunkmate in a luxury cabin for newlyweds.
James, who still makes me crave one more night of bad decisions.

Worse, we're snowed in with my very important father and his enemies.
It's a date with chaos. Plus every question I swore I'd never ask again.
What if there's more to us than scalding banter and get-bent glares?
What if there's still - do I really have to say it - love?

James & Tink

The beginning of two FBI agents falling in love, starting with little wads of notes, and trust in each others abilities, only to be torn apart by lies and deceit turning into tragedy and a deep hurt that closes James heart to anyone even the one woman he has ever loved. Then given a second chance when Tink and her Father are put in danger and the security company James works for is hired to protect them and he is assigned to protect her, bringing back all of the old feelings and fighting to keep her at arms length when they're thrown into danger by her own fathers bad decisions, and they work together again to save themselves and all those they care about. In the end they're love grew stronger and they finally get the HEA they both longed for. The narrators did a great job on this one.

Wow just wow

No, that was a way to end the series. Oh my gosh I love this I was full of action and love him actually talking about his mom and what he did and what he missed out on I think I used all of my emotions. Every single person that Nicole Snow wrote about in here was special in their own way. I loved all of them. The writing was perfect. Thankfully the narration for the last book was amazing.

Love this story!

I haven’t read other books by this author but will look for them now. Terrific story with good balance of mystery, steamy romance, character growth and development, and challenging environment. Narration is clear with appropriate emotion conveyed. Dual POV is a strength for this plot line. Definitely recommended.

Need to re-record James’ part

While Chris Chappell has a nice voice, his reading style leave something to be desired. He has absolutely no distinction between any of the characters, especially Fay and James. He has no purposeful inflection in his reading; confusing me as to what is going on in the scene, and who is talking. His audible swallows and heavy intake of breath made me cringe every time I heard them. Does anyone at the studio who records the books actually audition the narrators? Oh, the book was good. I think. I was too focused on Chappell’s narration to pay attention.

Male narrator was hard to listen to.

It would be nice to have a male narrator who can give the correct inflections when expressing emotions, and who can properly pronounce words (funeral, etc.). His performance fell flat for me. Overall the book was good, a bit to much pining away for me but still enjoyable.

Great and not so Great...

First, I love everyone of Nicole's books, her stories and the way she tells them, are phenomenal!!! That said, this was the first male narrator I was not fond of. He is not very good with making you feel what is happening and at times is almost monotone. ☹
