Publisher's summary

Vic is struggling to adjust to life after her mother’s murder the previous year, unaware that forces beyond her comprehension are at play in her hometown of Great Oak. Soon those forces will directly impact her life, as enemies she doesn’t even know exist seek to destroy her and those who know of her unique talents scramble to protect her from harm. As Vic becomes aware of her unusual abilities, Olympians, powerful and long-lived residents of Atlantis, rally to ensure her survival, enlisting the aid of other supernatural beings and a few trusted humans. But even they have ulterior motives, seeing Vic as the potential savior of Atlantis.

When Olympian gods now residing in Atlantis take an interest in 17-year-old Victoria “Vic” Hartley, bloody chaos ensues in her sleepy Florida hometown of Great Oak. While the ancients try to protect her, Vic’s enemies seek to destroy her...and Vic is becoming aware of unique abilities and increasing powers that she doesn’t understand. As forces beyond her wildest imagination clash, can she survive? Is she, in fact, the heir to Atlantis?

Deadly Secrets Revealed

The small town of Great Oak holds many secrets that are about to be revealed! Vic is a young woman mourning the loss of her mother and caring for her father and younger sister. Everything changes overnight for Vic and she comes face to face with entities one can only find in ancient history and horror books.  For Vic and her family and friends, this soon becomes a fight to the death.

The Author, E.W. Roberts weaves a complex and mysterious story around Atlantis, Gods, and other supernatural beings. While complex, the story is easily followed and captivating.  Each character is richly developed and poignant to the storyline.  The plot twists are well done and unexpected in most cases.   The dialogue between characters is authentic sounding. The ending was well done leaving the listener wanting more.

The narrator, Whitney Dykhouse delivers a well-done performance. Her delivery is smooth and clearly spoken. Her intonations and inflections are appropriate for each character and the action of the book. I found her voice enthralling.

This is an exciting and suspense-filled book that ensnares the listener early on. A definite must-listen!

Mostly gory & disconnected

Occasional snippets of interesting plot & character buried among cliched, boring, and unnecessarily gruesome passages. I could only make it about 2 hours into the narration of over 12 hours. Feel sorry for the competent narrator having this lengthy waste to have to read.
