Stormy, yet Heartwarming

A mysterious character shows up in Sweetwater Springs who carries a hard burden. Can the town's people help with his quest? He soon realizes there's much more to this little town than meets the eye. And there's one woman who won't stop at anything when it comes to helping and protecting the children of this budding community.

A villain and backstory that's darker than anything we've come across in both Wild and Starry Montana Sky, but don't let that give you hesitation. The people of Sweetwater Springs that you've come to know and love, have grown closer in their friendships and bonds and are a formidable force. Author Debra Holland deftly takes you into their thoughts and you become as close and part of the community yourself.

So come along for another adventure of action, romance, friendship and hope.

The narration was very good.

I did like the engaging plot and the dynamic narration. I also enjoyed revisiting characters from previous books. It’s an easy pleasant listen.

Second chances

Harriet was in love with Nick Sanders, but he married another and left her heart broken. Anthony (Ant) has been trailing after his murderous brother-in-law trying to find his nephew. He happens upon a bedraggled woman in need of help. Ant helps Harriet get back to safety and she helps him in his search for his nephew. Ant's first wife died and then his sister was murdered so he didn't want to think about love again. Harriet was sure that she would never love anyone as she did Nick. Now, they have Ant's nephew and both of them are rethinking whether or not they would ever love again.

The Teacher Finds Her Love

Harriet Stanton is crushed when the man she loves marries another. Moving on will be hard. Reporter Anthony Gordon is on a mission to find his sister’s murderer and his kidnapped nephew. He knows they are somewhere near Sweetwater Springs, Montana. With Harriet’s help he travels to the remote home in the area. A sweet romance and adventure. Marvelous performance. Recommend.

Compellling, Engrossing and Annoying

While this historical series is compelling, the blatant sexism and violence so prevalent in the 1990s was annoying and depressing. Surprisingly, school teacher Harriett was a smart, assertive and engaging character, not the stereotypical passive wall flower.

Stormy Montana Sky seems to be considered clean (no explicit sex or cursing) by many listeners/readers but the graphic scenes of attempted rape, physical assault, child abuse and cold blooded murder are reminders that frontier life was often bleak and harsh.

Anger that only Love can calm

What does Natalie Ross bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Natalie Ross is a wonderful performer. Once again she brings all the characters to life and she kept the story flowing with her smooth narration.

Who was the most memorable character of Stormy Montana Sky and why?

David was my favorite!

Any additional comments?

Sometimes the "middle" story of a series does not have quite the same "oomph" of the other books in a series. Stormy Montana Sky is not one of them, though! Debra brings all of the excitement, humor, friendship and romance that Montana could bring! Stormy Montana Sky is a wonderful addition to the Morning Sky series!

Anthony (Ant) is a man bent on avenging the death of his sister and the kidnapping of his nephew, David. The trail has led him to sleepy little Sweetwater Springs, Montana only to have to rescue and then be helped by the town's school teacher Harriet, who has her own loss that she is trying to live with. Not only do their paths cross but also their destinies. Mix a "busybody" town, good friends and a hateful brother-in-law and you have one exciting story!
