Good story until the propaganda

Took until the halfway thru the 3rd book to push propaganda. Granted, it was written in 2014, but even then it was well known that we were facing a demographic collapse & that overpopulation was a myth; manmade pollutants in America had already fallen greatly, and we are one of the leaders in reducing pollution in the air & water (China or India would’ve been better locations).

Manmade Climate Change is also unproven, & actual data shows that every hypothesis that was to happen, doesn’t (Hurricanes aren’t stronger, plant life is greener, Arctic caps aren’t losing ice in any irregular way, nor are the reefs dying off).

Shame the author had to push this narrative onto young impressionable minds the way he chose.. Not to mention the Hydrogen.. Author shows that he didn’t really investigate the actual science behind these things.. sigh.

Otherwise, was a decent story- though wouldn’t recommend to under 15yrs old as there are several instances in the 3 books in which it has a 14yr old showering with another girls, being exposed nude in front of another girl, and lusting over a girl in a small red bikini (which is brought up several times; also has several times in which it becomes overly & unnecessarily wordy, which became a distraction (especially starting with the 2nd book)

Thrilling End to the Sylo Chronicles!

I always really enjoy DJ MacHale's books. Great performance by the narrator, and quite a twist for the end of the story. If you've read the other two books in the series, Sylo and Storm, then you need to read this one. If you haven't read any of DJ MacHale's other books but enjoy teen sci-fi that isn't filled with a ton of plot conveniences, his books (Sylo series or his previous Pendragon series) are worth the read/listen!

The King of Twists

I read/listened through this 3 books like it was water! Amazing storyline accompanied by a great narrator. I'm a huge fan of D.J. so my review is highly biases but even still.. I can bet you can't guess the ending of his stories and you are always up for an amazing adventure along the way. I love how we get to truly see Tucker and his friends grow as individuals and together. Its crazy to think these are some random kids who just HAPPEN to be put in these situations but.. I think thats what adds that spice. We can relate somewhat to the choices they make because. . . if that had been us. . well. . how differently would we do things. I am a huge fan of the villain as in..you can understand his view point and actions. You can question yourself as to if you were in his shoes...on his side of the playing field ... wouldn't you agree with him? (that could be just me) ANYWAYYYY An amazing trilogy again. Hope you guys enjoyed it as muh as I did. Hobey-ho ♡

Good story, but has political spin

Where does Strike rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's up there...but isn't in my top 10.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the characters in all 3 of the Sylo books. They were complex and developed. I also really liked the plot twists.

Any additional comments?

******SPOILER ALERT******
I really didn't like how he just said that none of the business leaders were interestd in developing alternative sustainable energy because it wasn't cost effective. It implies that capitalism is incompatible with taking care of the Earth. It is a very flawed point of view. In the last 10-15 years, we've seen many entrepreneurs created businesses based on using renewable resources. From making solar panels and electric cars to making bicycles out of sustainable resources (i.e. bamboo).

Endings...

Endings, some people love them, some people hate them. Some endings leave you wanting more, some endings leave you confused. DJ McHale's Endings are simply.... Perfect.
