Mixed feelings.
His wife isn’t even credited for this audio recording? She’s just as prominent and informative as he is... so much for trying to empower women.
Great information though. You learn a lot about hormones and helps make sense of mood swings and how trauma can affect the body. There’s no specific remedy or solution so don’t expect a cure.

Very good - when paired with his Brain fit website
Overall, this was an easy to listen "book." Really, it was multiple 1 hour podcasts put together as chapters, but Dr. Amen and his wife were easy to listen to and conversational. There are also several guided imagery narrations at the end, if that's something you find beneficial.
Overall, this audio was interesting and it gave a shallow dive on a lot of general women's health topics for me to investigate further: women's hormones, adrenal health, anxiety, depression, sleep, exercise and more are all covered. However, if you are looking to be able to self-diagnose and then also find related supplements to treat your symptoms, this audio will make it too difficult because it seems too general.
However, based on the info in this book, I did go ahead to his website an purchase a subscription to find out more about my brain, the supplements specific for my needs and several specific exercises to help me, and I will say that after just a week and a half, it seems like money well spent. I already have more energy, better memory and fewer severe mood swings. So the book alone would probably earn three stars. But with the help of the website, I bumped it to 4 stars because Dr. Amen's work has dramatically helped me. You just won't find all of that help in this audio alone.

This isn’t a book but a discussion.
This conversation is just 2 people bouncing theories constantly. They both find each other’s opinions interesting. It’s a constant ping pong of nothing really scientifically based. Also the beginning of the book was an infomercial to go to his clinic to get a brain scan that can’t be done anywhere else in the world.

barely able to finish it
Not bad material, similar to other books aside from a bit of sales pitch for the authors facilities and products. You'll need to be tolerant of him sniffing long and loud in through his nose along with smacking his tongue on the roof of his mouth in order to get through the book.
