About this listen

There is no new content in this boxset. If you've already listened to the Augustin Family story, you've already listened to the contents of this box set!

Hints of Spice

When Cin Bradley packs up and moves herself, her mother, and her baby girl away from their home in Connecticut, she has no plans to make a love connection. She’s just trying to get settled into her new house, new job, and new life–until Landry Augustin comes to her front door. Together, they explore the potential of a romance neither was looking for–sweet, and a little spicy.

A Dash of Heat

Maggie Augustin just wanted something sweet. A bit of self-soothing, to take the edge off the loneliness and heartache she’d been quietly enduring. When she walks away from his food truck, box of beignets in hand, she has no idea that Rene St. Martin–not his pastries–is exactly the something sweet she wanted, with the little dash of heat she needs.

A Touch of Sugar

Pru Ashford isn't looking for...anything. Which is how she ends up finding exactly what she needs–a perfect balance of savory and sweet.

The Right Amount Of Spice!!!

**Hints of Spice**

Hints of Spice is the kind of black romance I love. Cin and Landry are two professionals who just so happen to share a “risqué” interest if you will. Cin use to be a stripper back in the day and Landry loves to frequent strip clubs. She finds out about his strip club love when they happen to run in to each other on Friday night at where else?!!! A strip club. Landry finds out about Cin’s past when ole homely azz, petty azz, and jealous azz Vera snitches. I love that these characters have this taboo interest they don’t judge one another for. Hell, it actually intensified their attraction to each other. This may have been Cin’s story but, Mama Sage stole the book! That woman was hilarious! I loved Ms. Sage and Cinnamon's relationship with each other. Ms. Sage is the mama we all deserved. The narrators were horrible. They were just blah and did absolutely nothing for the characters. I will never listen to another book narrated by J. Shani Michaels or Myles Washington. Hints of Spice was a heartfelt and delightful love story.

**A Dash of Heat**

Maggie was judgmental and horrible in book one so, of course, I went into her story expecting not to like her. But, after getting a glimpse into her background, you get a better understanding of why she acted the way she did. Her first and second problem was her friendship with Vera’s crazy azz. Vera, pretty much, pulled a Jim Jones on Maggie. She listened to and held onto every single word Vera said like it was scripture. The only reason Vera was even hanging around Maggie is because, she wanted Landry. When she finally realizes she’s doesn’t have a chance with him, she and her cohorts dump poor Maggie which, opens the door for Calvin’s trash azz to waltz right through and treat her horribly. After the whole ordeal with him, Maggie is a mess emotionally and unsure whether to trust her own judgment after making so many bad choices. Then, a beignet making angel named Rene St. Martin appeared and showed Maggie how a real man treats a woman. Oh, how I loved me some Rene. He was the opposite of everything Maggie thought she knew and exactly what she needed. I loved how their relationship developed and how Rene let her know that she was dealing with a grown azz man. A Dash of Heat was romantic, refreshing, and realistic. The ending will definitely have you wanting more from this couple.

Fun & Cute

Really enjoyed this set! This was the first book I heard from this female narrator and I liked her, nice variety with characters. First time hearing the make too, but wasn’t crazy about the male narrator’s cadence especially for female voices.

I took away one star on story because I would’ve liked to stay with each character/story longer in their own set.

Can I meet my Landry?

Great listen! This story is very relatable. Female narrator brings color to the story. The raw attraction kept me listening and wondering how long it would take the two to truly connect. This audible book allowed me to escape my boring life and enjoy the exciting lives that I wish I had.
Now, let me go find a yard man.

Loved the Story!!

CCJ does it again! The story was great. I’m not a huge fan of the narrators. Their crossover voices (male to female and female to male) were horrible. But the storyline was so good that I was able to over look it.

Great stories

Really enjoyed the stories of all three books. Mama Sage was my favorite character. Vera I wanted to fight. The male narrator, his female voice was horrible. the female narrator was better. Both didn't do a very good job of a Cajun accent. But the story line of all three were very good.

Sweet and Spicy Novella!

I loved the storyline concepts. It was ashamed to waste great storylines on a novella.
The performances were good.
I really enjoyed Cyn’s story!

So good!

I really liked this box set. The stories were great and the female narrator really allowed the story shine. Her pacing and the emotion was just right to allow me to connect with the characters. The only critique I have is for the male narrator. I stumbled a
lot with his portrayal and the female voices he used. Overall, I think it was a great performance for great short stories.

SWEET HEAT

Wow, Wow! These stories were amazing. My only complaint is the length of each. I could've listened to each story for hours.I feel like there was do much more to know about each couple. Her characters are always so compelling. The narrators are so amazing & the bring the stories home. Great job CCJ! I can't get enough!
