About this listen

Meet bad-boy shortstop Jax Carrigan....

Baseball and fast women are my life. What can I say? I'm good-looking and in the best shape of my career. Being a National League MVP contender, I'm even a great athlete. There's only one thing I'm missing: Jocelyn Kennedy.

Ten years have passed since the night we broke each other's hearts. And not a day goes by that I don't feel the sting from my actions. But that's about to change now that she's single again.

When we arrive at a mutual friend's party, it reconfirms what I already know - we belong together. I'm confident I can win her back.

There's just one thing I need to do - convince her. Ten years ago, I didn't fight hard enough. I won't make the same mistake twice.

Second chances don't happen often. But here's the thing: I go after what I want. And what I want is Jocelyn Kennedy.

Hitting a homerun!

Kimberly Readnour hits a home run with book two of the Bad Boys Redemption series. This is my favorite of the series so far, and I absolutley loved it. Jocelyn is a recently divorced, mother of 3 with a cheating, repulsive ex-husband. Jax is a successful baseball player, and can have his pick of women. What draws him back to his college sweetheart? Things did not end well for Jocelyn and Jax, so now when that second chance is offered, will they take it? From the very start, it's impossible not to root for this couple. There is immense chemistry, and you can feel the draw between them. But now Jocelyn comes with baggage and an instant family and Jax comes with cleat chasers and a reputation as a player. So much has changed while other things have remained the same. The two have to learn about each other, learn to trust and learn to love without exception. I think this story is sweet as well as steamy and will make your ears happy if you give it a listen.

I have to say that I love the narration team of Charlotte North and Aaron Shedlock. Charlotte North is a great fit for the role of Jocelyn. She is a strong woman, is a great mother and you can hear that in Charlotte's voice. But the underlying thread of longing and love in her voice is just as strong and makes you relate to Jocelyn very easily. Aaron Shedlock is perfect as Jax. Jax is a confident character, at least on the outside, and Shedlock give's Jax that perfect sound. He is cocky, yet vulnerable. The perfect mix. These two really complimented each other well and made the listen first class.

Shedlock’s voice

I didn’t care for how stupid the author made the characters in terms of their decision making/lack of communication. It seemed really unbelievable.
