The narration on this audiobook sounds like a robot that doesn’t know when to breathe.

Worst narration I’ve heard in audible.

Useful info regarding:
scaling horizontal vs vertica,l
distributed systems designs,
availability consistency tolerance,
sharding,
caching,
hashing,
client server / slave master model

Once again this was a very brief overview. Not in depth does leave out info such as security, monitoring, etc.

Not in depth, more so an overview

How can this narration be considered acceptable? The narrator sounds like a machine, with gaspy, unnatural pauses before key terms. His speed is uneven and chaotic, and his monotone voice is unbearably slow. Buy the text version and listen to it using Google Books Read Aloud feature, it will sound more human.

The narration is so terrible it obscures content.

Helpful Book!!!

The narration sounds like a high quality robot, but the pauses are in the wrong place. Also the narration makes references to thing that can be seen. As far as the actual content, it gets to very specific implementation details rather than focusing on the concepts.

Have heard worse

Auto generated voice. A complete waste of money. Please do not buy it. Even by mistake.

Well-written. Well-organized. It covers almost every detail of creating a distributed system and problems one could face. And it will give you good ideas to apply to your own systems. You will build up knowledge from the basics to most advanced techniques.

Well-organized.

Have no idea if the story was good listening to the robot was too bad.

terrible narrator. Awful text to speech

The voice speaker pauses after the first word of every sentence and key words are mispronounced. The content isn't well explained.
