About this listen

Two unknown producers struggle to fulfill their dreams to change lives through the power of film. With millions of investors’ dollars on the line, everything starts to fall apart and they realize they may be in over their heads. Is it possible to beat the odds and make a movie unlike anything ever done before? Or, will they lose everything in the process?

Could they change the world—before the world changes them? Filmmakers Chase Ryan and Keith Ellison left the mission field of Indonesia for the mission field of Hollywood with a dream bigger than both of them. Now they have done the impossible: raised enough money to produce a feature film with a message that could change the world. But as Chase and Keith begin shooting, their well-laid plans begin to unravel. With millions of dollars on the line, they make a desperate attempt to keep the film from falling apart—even as a temperamental actress, a botched production schedule, and their own insecurities leave little room for the creative and spiritual passion that once motivated them.

Was God really behind this movie after all? A chance meeting and friendship with John Baxter could bring the encouragement they need to stay on mission and produce a movie that will actually change people’s lives. In the midst of the questions and the cameras, is it possible to keep things above the line and make a movie unlike anything done before—or is the risk too great for everyone?

Uplifting and encouraging

Karen Kingsbury makes you want to live in her fictional world. This story has a glorious innocence about it that one does not see in our world today. The characters stand in stark contrast with every character today’s media offers. The story gives hope that such a purity could still exist & can even encourage the reader to pursue it.

Love the continuing Baxter story

Loved the book! I've listened to all the previous books, so it took awhile to adjust to having multiple narrators. It wasn't a bad thing, but occasionally it felt a bit awkward.

Intended for College-Age kids

Great story and message. Book is written more for college age students, which is great, but disappointed I wasn't aware of it prior to my purchase of both books thru Audible.

multiple readers

I was disappointed when the original reader for the Baxter series wasn't used for this book. Multiple readers are used and I found that made it difficult to listen too. I wasn't fond of the vast variety of male and female readers. The stories are always wonderful and I enjoyed that part.

Take One

I really do not know how to review this book with all the different characters that I am not used to as well as the readers. :Listening to them read a female that mostly is so far off, and then will come along a child that I thought was a child for the part. Do miss the original reader of her books.
The story is very different from her Baxter books, but I am going to finish the best I can. Just starting Take Two and guess that it will be more of the movie world which really not my interest.

Narration

I wanted to like this book and I am sure as a regular book it is good but I could not get past the narrator's voices. They guy was ok but the woman's was choppy and lacked the characters she was representing.
