Publisher's summary

A compelling new mystery from Dee Henderson!

Abducted at the age of sixteen and coerced into assisting the Jacoby crime family, Shannon Bliss has finally found a way out. She desperately wants to resume some semblance of normal life, but she also knows she has some unfinished business to attend to. She has enough evidence to put her captors behind bars for a very long time.

When Shannon contacts private investigator and former cop Matthew Dane to help her navigate her reentry into society, she quickly discovers that gaining her freedom doesn't mean her troubles are over. For one thing her brother is the leading candidate in the race for Illinois governor, and news of her escape will create a media frenzy. For another the ransom her family reportedly paid years earlier appears to have been a scam; no one knows what happened to the money. And then there's the fact that Shannon's escape involved faking her own death. If the Jacoby family learns she is still alive, they'll stop at nothing to silence her.

If justice is to be done, and if Shannon's life is ever to get on track again, Matthew will need to discover exactly what happened to her - even if it means stirring up a hornet's nest of secrets.

TAKEN by surprise!

Another fabulous book by Dee Henderson which fans will enjoy. The narrator does an admirable job, even with the few voice mix-ups. The story is full of details which paint the picture well. Less details would leave holes in the reader's overall comprehension and imagination. Turn on TAKEN and set the cruise control for an enjoyable ride with Shannon and Matthew.

Good story line, but dry.

I like Dee Henderson's books but found this one to be written and presented in such an objective format it felt dry. The main character Shannon was secretive and selective in what she shared with Matthew and that fit her character but she was so calculated and poised and controlled in the situations presented it had a clinical feel and the characters were thus more two dimensional in depth instead of richly characterized. Maybe some had to do with the narrator who was male and voiced a more soft breathy female lead role. I enjoyed the story but felt the amount of perfect control of emotion in lead characters, arrests and tracking of bad guys and finding of all Shannon's past personal items and their ultimate worth was too unrealistic.

great read

the perspective on why bad things happen to good people resonated as very probable. great read. Dee Henderson never fails to entertain and teach scriptural truth. I really do prefer a female and male narrator.

Captivating

loved this book. Mystery, light romance and friendships make it a nice read.
I would recommend this to my Christian family and friends.

Awesome Chistian book!!!!

If you follow Dee's writings, this is a new stand alone book. This book uses a few characters from former books, but is a new stand alone book. Without giving away too much of ths story, which I have listenened to twice, it is about a girl who was abducted, was missing for 11 years, then appears again. I love the fact there no bad language but is an awesme mystery that will rivet your attention the whole way through!!!!!! If you like a good mystery without lots of bad language or sex, yet is a great love story, you will love this book. I highly recommed this book.

Review of Taken

I enjoyed the book very much. There was enough suspense in it to keep it interesting. I loved the Christian witnessing in it. The narrator’s voice was very pleasant to listen to and expressive. Sammye Lee Woods

Good

I got a little frustrated with main character’s confidence up and down and Brice’s altruistic character, but the ending was a nice tie together and hood to see repeat characters—paul and Ann, etc
