About this listen

Tales of horror from one of the masters of the genre. Peter Meredith delivers stories that will keep you devouring them one after another. From the Pen - a gift that just keeps on killing, to "The Eyes in the Storm" - a beast that feeds on those who dare to go out when nature is at its cruelest, to "The Haunting at Red Feathers" - a true haunting that has the young couple trapped in the woods with a demonic presence, begging: "Don't let the night catch me here!"

Seven tales in all come from the butcher's block and that includes "The Witch: Jillybean in the Undead World".

What is more terrifying than a mad woman who is snatching up the children of Rippling, Missouri in order to breed the perfect zombie? A seven-year-old girl with fly-away brown hair and a gift for destruction.

I got this for the witch story, as I finished up the entire JillyBean novels. As I learned it was a collection of other short stories I was kind of bummed. But man was I wrong, what a collection of fantastic stories. Like so good that I wish they were all full length novels. Now I want to read everything he has written. If you can make a gripping and scary story about a Pen, you are a hell of an author. Peter Meredith is a brilliant author A+++++

Wow what a bonus

Any additional comments?

I really liked the story lines in this book, but I found the pace a little slow. The stories were interesting, and I wanted to keep listening to find out what happened next, but I frequently wanted what happened next to happen a little quicker. On a side note, I found the criticism of the character Jen Kidd to be amusing. I have personally known women like her, so I know that the character is as real as you can get.

A Little Slow in Places But Still a Good Read

If you have been listening to the Joe Ledger teams antics from book one then I do not recommend this book as it is just a compilation of stories you have already heard. This is more of a cross section for new fans to get a taste of what the rest of stories will bring to the table. That being said I will say it gets so very much better down the road.

Not for you if you are an avid Ledger fan

This book was way to short. Would have liked another 9 hours of tales. Love "the Undead World series.

More please.

He tried a horror anthology and hit a home run. Plus there's Jillybean. Thank you very much for what are surprisingly good horror stories. Now I know where M.Night found his "split" inspiration.
Dear Hollywood, please turn this book into a movie, NO CHANGES.

He dipped his toe in, and the lake turned to gold.
