Most famous for his Sherlock Holmes stories, Conan Doyle was a prolific writer in several genres. Conan Doyle's medical practice was not especially popular, and he began writing to fill his time. After some difficulty finding a publisher, his first Sherlock Holmes story was published to great success. What a screwed up audiobook. One of the stories, The Lost Special, is truncated, ending before the mystery is solved. I checked the original text to make sure i was not remembering it wrong. This is not a recording glitch as the background music swells up as the reading comes to its aborted close. What the heck happened?

The narration is odd. One of the narrators, David Thorn, is quite good. The other is absolutely rotten.

Still, given the low price, if you skip over the stories narrated by ms Frohman the recording is still worth it. Just download the original text from Gutenburg to find the missing bits.

WARNING: Truncated story!

it was ok, but a little boring at times. I really thought it would be alot scarier and exciting.

not as good as I hoped

Having read and listened to most Doyle’s writings, I can honestly say, that other than Sherlock mysteries, he leaves a lot to be desired. Pas on this one.

NOT GREAT, NOT GOOD.
