Mark Hogarth, a New York newspaper editor, receives a text stating his father has died. Mark books the next flight to San Francisco to pick up his father's belongings from Springthorpe Manor, an old red-brick retirement home sitting high on a hill. As Mark sorts through his father's possessions, he discovers cryptic notes in his father's journal that suggest foul play. Mark becomes convinced his father may still be alive, even after Heath Dole, the director of Springthorpe, hands him a black urn containing his father's ashes and assures Mark that Ralph Hogarth has indeed passed.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

It’s a grand old country house - the family home of his old friend - and a perfect haven. Or so it seems. But in the blistering summer heat, trouble is afoot. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face. She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Tarts, Tears and Tragedy
Such a sad story! I know Melody will find a way to calm her gut feelings but just not this time. I look forward to the next.

This is really sad story but the narrator did it justice and I'm glad I gave it a chance

Suiside or murder
Tarts, Tears and Tragedy is an enjoyable cozy. Meredith Potts has written an amazing story. Stephanie Quinn’s narration is outstanding. The characters are so well written that they seem like “old friends”. This book is part of a 12 book series. I enjoy them all.

A well-written story from a very good author
Tarts, Tears, and Tragedy (Audible Audio), my forty-sixth short read from author Meredith Potts, Another cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mystery. I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. As in so many of her audiobooks, Stephanie Quinn’s talented narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to the next in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Enjoying the series of majestic cove, would like each chapter to be a little longer, so that you can start to feel each character. The narration is good.

Excellent
Melody loses a close friend, was it suspicious, or her thoughts turn that way first. In this story that was only the beginning of what lies ahead. These are delightful cozy mystery. With the great narration by Stephanie Quinn they are so much more. One is always delighted to listen to these over and over. Given audio for my voluntary review

Love Meredith Potts!
This was a thought provoking short story. The ending leaves us with a lot to think about concerning depression and the ways our mind works! I enjoyed the book! I wish it was long enough to give us insight and reasoning for this tragedy!

Great Read
Tarts, Tears, and Tragedy was another good read by Meredith Potts. Melody Clue tragically loses a close friend and is devastated. Melody thinks her friend died under suspicious circumstances and investigates it. I enjoyed reading Melody trying to avenge her friends death and can’t wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

Worst Book Yet
This was the most boring book I ever listened to. In the first 4 chapters all the focus was on the main character , her friend who died and her and her mothers going over her past and wanting her to play guitar again. It did not even add anything to the story either. Most books I have read in the first chapter it got down to the nitty gritty and the plot not this one.
