About this listen

The Amazon Charts bestselling series.

What really happened in the forest? Hidden crimes and secrets of the past converge in a riveting thriller by Anne Frasier, the New York Times bestselling author of Find Me.

No strangers to evil, criminal profiler Reni Fisher and detective Daniel Ellis both still grapple with traumatizing pasts. It unites them. So has a crime they must solve before someone else dies.

At a campsite on California’s Pacific Crest Trail, a guide is murdered and three young hikers vanish without a trace. The only lead is a puzzle in itself: a video of the crime scene, looking eerily staged, uploaded to social media. The girl who posted it can’t be found. Is it a viral hoax gone unspeakably wrong, or is there something more sinister at play in the forest?

The case intensifies when one of the missing is found wandering down a dirt road, confused and afraid. As Reni and Daniel struggle to sort fact from fiction, a secret past collides with the present, threatening to sever their relationship. Are some truths too much to bear? Will this be the case that finally breaks them?

I like the way the author dealt with emotional fallout in the main characters.

Complex and believable

In true Ann Frasier style, the book draws you in on the first page and holds you there. And who doesnt love a plot twist? As in all of her books, something is always happening, so that interview scenes (my least favorite type of scene in this genre) are always interesting.
Thank you Ann Frasier for another page turner.

not one boring scene

I loved this book. I could not put it down and I've all ready told several friends about how it was a great read. I thought the characters were right beside me, telling their thoughts to me. it was very well written with unusual character traits. I highly recommend this book.

It was a struggle to finish. I read the first book so got really tired of hearing about the first book over and over again in the second book. Too much emotional drama.. Good story though.

Good story...but too much emotional baggage

I hope for more books in this series. The story held my interest and I wanted more!! Love the setting and characters. She writes them with their flaws but keeps them moving forward instead of dwelling on them.

Great story
