About this listen

Already addicted to the pharmaceutical drug that keeps her body from decomposing, Bryn has to stop a secretive group of rich and powerful investors from eliminating the existing Returné addicts altogether. To ensure their plan to launch a new military-grade strain of nanotech, the investors' undead assassin - who just happens to be the ex-wife of Bryn's lover Patrick - is on the hunt for anyone that stands in their way. And while Bryn's allies aren't about to go down without a fight, the secret she's been keeping threatens to put those closest to her in even more danger.

Poised to become a monster that her allies - and her own lover - will have to trap and kill, Bryn needs to find the cure to have any hope of preserving the lives of her friends, and her own dwindling humanity.

Caredynne

Narrator does a great job with all the characters. Great story line, I just wish there was more!

Hanging

I was happy with listening to this series until I got to the ‘end’. There was so much detail & thought in the story- then I felt like she just said ‘ok- I’m done’. I didn’t feel closure with everything she produced in the series.

Good End

Such a good series, even though I had to laugh at all the things that just went perfect and were there when needed, no matter how outrageous. Definitely worth the read.

Great Middle Book!

First Thought when Finished: OH MY Two Week's Notice was such a good listen! I am so glad I had Terminated ready to go when I finished.

Overall Thoughts: I have pretty much devoured this series back to back. Two Weeks Notice did exactly what the middle book in a trilogy should do: advance the story. We got more action, romance, back story, and emotion. Middle books should always be the "meat" of the trilogy and this one delivered. Bryn (the leading lady) is probably one of my favorite characters in Urban Fantasy. She is kick ass but mostly she is just dealing with the hand that she has been dealt. I tend to admire the leading ladies that are "human" about their circumstances. The rest of the cast of characters are great too. My favorite thing about Rachel Caine is she writes characters that I care about and want to root for! The Revivalist series though is probably my favorite!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Julia Whelan /Length: 9 hrs and 52 mins

Julia does a fantastic job with Bryn and the rest of the characters in this series. Her pacing and rhythm are very well done. She also has one of those voices that you can listen to on higher speeds and it doesn't distort at all. Overall very well done.

Final Thoughts: I love this series!

Good, but had editing issues

So I loved this series, but there were so many inconsistencies between the second and third book it drove me nuts! Other than the horrible the editing the book was great!

Good, but a bit too much of a Macguffin plot

This was a pretty good conclusion, although it felt like the book was overstuffed with endless scenes where the team goes on a scavenger hunt for [insert Macguffin person, serum, or informant], but the bad guys are able to [insert trace, lay a trap for, or capture] Bryn and company. Until the finale, it was just a succession of losses and setbacks. In this series, you could play a drinking game on the number of times Bryn gets captured, cuffed, and caged.

On the plus side, the team actually works more like a team and Bryn in particular showcases her mettle. The solution was a tad predictable. Also, I thought some character losses were glossed over, without the appropriate level of grief. Kudos, however, for keeping me in suspense as to whether maybe-allies like Manny or Riley would ultimately have Bryn’s back. I will definitely check out more from this author.

This one is the best!

Finally Bryn shows that she was actually in the military service. I guess she saved all her fighting skills for this book. That had been a sticking point for me in the first two books. She could not cross the street by herself. You have an unusual drama of allegiances. Bad guys are now good bad guys because there is someone even creeper. You don't know until the last bullet is fired who is the actual bad guy. No on stays dead. There is always a step up to the next horror or the slide down into it. Oh course our heroine is self sacrificing to the nth degree but that is intrinsic with being a heroine. Being dead is now a family affair. That is good because the whininess has transferred to the little sister and Bryn can be the bad ass. The question I have is what happen to the dogs?
