Great mix of short stories.

This is a collection of 10 short stories, Jackson Stables by Ron Ripley, Music Box by A. I. Nasser, Lost Dog by David Longhorn, Trick or Treat by Sara Clancy, The Steak House by Ron Ripley, Thunder Run by David Longhorn, Faces by A. I. Nasser, Initial Impression by David Longhorn, Closer by Sara Clancy and The Sins We Hide by A.I Nasser. I usually avoid short story collections because I always end up unsatisfied with the stories, they seem to always feel rushed and not complete, but I loved this collection and each book felt like a full story. I didn't feel like the stories were unfinished!

I also usually write notes to myself when reading short stories so I can keep track of what each one was about and my thoughts on each, but I forgot to with this one because when I started listening, I couldn't stop. Each story was well written, some were a lot creepier than others but each one was thoroughly enjoyable and kept me hooked.

Each author has their own distinctive style but one thing they have in common is their ability to tell a story. I think my favourites were the Steak House, Closer and The Sins We Hide.

Thom Bowers has grown a lot as a narrator and has become a better performer. He read each story really well and gave each character their own voice and personality.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Solid Collection of Creepiness

I was really impressed with the way that this short story collection turned out. Often times when looking at a collection the stories seem stunted and like they haven't been given enough room to grow into a full experience, but this definitely doesn't fall under that category. The first story was creepy and immersive and it didn't let go after that until the end of the 6 hour run-time. Each story was varied and interesting from a different pov and in a different setting but they each succeeded at creeping me out and delivering an exciting storyline.

I really enjoyed this collection. I received the review code for this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great short story collection

I loved this collection of short stories. Well worth reading. From ghost horses, all till the end with a chilling story of a little girl and her want of revenge. These writers have given me many hours of entertainment and creepy vibes. The narrator is so good at his job, that now enough when I read one of Scare Street many books I imagine this narrator's voice in my head. Read this book you will not forget these stories.

Awesome Collection!

Review Copied from My review of the "Shadows Books 1-3" Set:
I own all the books in this series in both Kindle and Now Audible formats. While I Love being able to read the books, being able to listen to them while driving my car too is even better. There's nothing better than a short trip to the store and being able to listen to something just perfect enough for short trips. Highly Recommended.

Great sampling of eerie stories

I always enjoy listening to short stories and this collection is great. The narrator has a smooth easy to listen to voice that really brought each story to life. These horror shorts had plenty of creepy good twists that was often gripping and definitely scary. Each story was a nice sampling of the authors unique talents for story telling. While my favorite story was the last one, I enjoyed the entire collection.

Thoroughly enjoyable listen

This book has just the right amount of 'scare'. Not too gory or graphic and not utterly terrifying. The narrator was spot on (maybe needs to work on his Scottish accent, but still did much better than I ever could!), the pace and intonation were just right. A couple of the stories got my heart racing with the suspense, which is what you want from a horror, in my opinion. Altogether a good listen. I shall be listening to or reading the other books in this series.

Great Horror Shorts

There are 10 stories to enjoy by authors Ron Ripley, David Longhorn, Sara Clancy and A. I. Nasser, which are great, have ghosts/ monsters and other horror and longer than last book. Few that come to mind that I really enjoyed is Trick or Treat, The Sins We Hide, Lost Dog, Music Box and Jackson Stables. Highly recommend to anyone who likes short horror. I was given this free audiobook by ScareStreet and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU! Keep them coming

Deep and thought provoking stories.

I love the stories that leave you thinking about them. Your mind comes up with all sorts of different possibilities. Often each new one more terrifying than the last. Very well written!
