About this listen

Naive and spoiled, Sophia Yancey believes she is the only daughter of a wealthy Boston businessman. She's always struggled to fit in among the city's elite due to her dark hair and bronze skin. When a rugged mountain man from the faraway Teton Mountains arrives to reveal her true identity, Sophia is in denial.

Joseph Walker made a promise to a dying friend: travel east to find the old Indian chief's granddaughter and bring her back to her people. Unsure whether the girl is even alive, Joseph arrives on the doorstep of Byron Yancey, his only clue to her whereabouts. He expects to find Little Raven, a girl of Indian heritage. Instead, he meets stunning socialite, Sophia Yancey, and realizes that the journey home to the Tetons will challenge him in ways the wilderness never could.

Away from the confines of polite society, Sophia must rely on Joseph as they travel a long road of danger and discovery, wary of a killer seeking revenge. As love ignites between them among the grandeur of the Tetons, will Joseph be able to keep her safe, or did he make a grave mistake in removing her from the only life she's ever known?

You can always go home, even the unknown.

Would you consider the audio edition of Teton Splendor to be better than the print version?

The only thing that I would say is better than the written version is that Steve Marvel's performance was wonderful!

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where Sophia finally meets her grandfather and she finally understands who she is and where she belongs.

Any additional comments?

It is not easy to find out that your whole life has been a lie for a good reason. Sophia was raised in one of the wealthiest families in Boston, and yet she never quite fit in. Her skin was too dark even though her father loved her, and made sure that she never lacked for anything, something inside told her that it was not her home. One day, a handsome, mountain man shows up at her door to take her home. Her father knew this day would always come, but it broke his heart, but he also knew that Sophia needed to know where she came from and who her grandfather was. Teton Splendor tells the incredible story of how Sophia became Raven once again and how her guide not only gave her protection along the way but also gave her his heart.

A Very Sweet Romance in the Wilderness

I gravitated to this book because I was feeling a little stressed with modern living---you know the kind with incessant traffic, fast-paced work schedule etc. Plainly, I needed a mental break and wanted to experience some adventure and romance from a time past. Teton Splendor was perfect for my mood. The love development between Joseph Walker and Sophia Yancey is very sweet, innocent and sensual. There is one love scene in this book and it's definitely lovely....I do wish there were more though. But, overall a very nice book that is well-written with a plot riddled with the suspense of danger coming from Sophia's parents' killer and the couple's ever-moving journey in the wilderness on the mission to get Sophia to meet her grandfather who is a Native American chief over his tribe. The narrator, Steve Marvel was excellent. His voice is perfection with a nice deep voice for the males and he also does a good job for the women. Overall, very good tame audiobook.

Excellent story and narration!

If you liked book 1, you will like book 2 even more. It's the story of the Walkers' son, Joseph, and Laurent Berard+Whispering Waters daughter. Surely you liked Byron Yancey from the first book. He has a part in this book. The narration is perfect again, including accents and voices. I listen to these on my long drive to and from work and I get so absorbed in the story it's like I leave my house and suddenly I'm there, not wanting to turn the book off.

If this is your first Peggy series, you will absolutely love all her other books. Start with the Yellowstone series!

Romance and Danger in the Teton Mountains!

Where does Teton Splendor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I found it as enjoyable as all the other audiobooks I have listened to and will be listening to again. I enjoyed Steve Marvel's voice narrating the audiobook. I listened to him narrating Teton Sunrise and was happy to know he would be doing this one also. So far they have all been 5 star audiobooks.

Any additional comments?

Raised by Byron Yancey in Boston as his daughter, Sophia Yancey never knew she was born and raised in the wilderness of the Teton mountains until she was two. At that time her mother, Whispering Waters and her father, Laurent Berard were both murdered by an old enemy. Yancey, promising to keep her safe, disappeared back to Boston, before the killer found and murdered her too. Now twenty years later, Sophia a beautiful young lady, due to become engaged to a prominent man of Boston, has little idea how her life will change on the night of her engagement announcement.
Six months before, in the Teton mountains, Joseph Walker, son of Alex and Evelyn Walker, was asked by Sophia's grandfather, Chief Two Bears, to travel to Boston to bring his granddaughter Raven (Sophia) home to him. He was dying and wanted to see her one more time. Joseph knew it would take many months, but out of respect for his friend, Chief Two Bears, felt he needed to do this.
I enjoyed listening to this audiobook as Joseph a rugged mountain man, fell in love with this young, beautiful society woman while trying to protect and keep her safe from an unknown enemy, as they traveled through the mountain wilderness to her grandfather. And I enjoyed listening as Raven, no longer feeling as though she didn't belong, grow into a strong and confident woman.
Full of romance, suspense and danger from an old enemy, as they travel through the mountain wilderness, I'm sure you will enjoy this audiobook as much as I did. I am looking forward to the third one in the series. JudyE,

Teton Splendor: Teton Romance Trilogy, Book 2

Incredible action packed adventure! It is so sweet that Sophia was reunited with the boy she adored when she was two years old. I loved watching Sophia's journey to finally find her place in the world.

Great Listening Experience!!

If you could sum up Teton Splendor in three words, what would they be?

Great Listening Experience!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Teton Splendor?

For me it was when Joseph, and Sofia FINALLY said they LOVED EACH OTHER!!! Also when Joseph burst in the door at the end of the book.....

Which character – as performed by Steve Marvel – was your favorite?

Chief Two Bears.......

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment when 'Ravens" grandfather told her she had to marry a warrior in the Bannock tribe, and of course the wedding itself.

Any additional comments?

This was a great continuation of the story I loved in Teton Sunrise. I really enjoy books in a series, as I get very "attached" to the characters, and love to have their story continue. Peggy L. Henderson REALLY KNOWS HOW TO KEEP MY INTEREST, and her books have a GREAT combination of Action, Suspense, And OF COURSE just the right amount of ROMANCE!!! Steve Marvel is THE "BEST" when it comes to narrating a GREAT BOOK!! I LISTENED TO THE WHOLE THING WITHOUT A BREAK IN ONE DAY!!! LOVED IT!!!
