About this listen

Charlie "the Devil" Singleton is the face of professional poker. Notorious for playing cards and women, he knows when to hold 'em, when to walk away, and when to run - and he's got skills at the poker table too. But Charlie's ready to change his ways, and the surprisingly sexy texts he's getting from Riley are making him want to bet everything... on her. Riley Carter is nothing like the hotel heiresses who make the news. A girl who's determined to run her father's hotel empire can't share many traits with women who fill the gossip rags. But when living in Vegas, a straight-laced life can be stifling - and "the Devil" has a way of tempting even the best-behaved girls. When Riley discovers the naughty messages on her new cell haven't been coming from "Mr. Right" but from Charlie, she falls into a hot affair with the last man she expected. But consorting with the notorious bad boy puts her hard-won reputation on the line, and Riley must decide if the poker player is more to her than a little Text Appeal.

Appealing to the Inner Naught Girl

I loved Text Appeal, and Piper Goodeve is a great narrator. Even though readers get varying perspectives, Piper makes it easy for readers to follow the storyline and understand the internal musings of the characters. Riley Carter is a female heroine who many readers will be able to identify with because she clearly is a "good girl," but there's a naughty girl inside ready to breakout; it just takes the right man to do it, and Charlie Singleton is definitely up to the task.

Riley and Charlie's sexting and steamy encounters are everything Riley's been craving but has never felt confident enough to ask for from her boyfriend, Chaz, who is a definite douche bag!

Readers can easily see the deeper feelings that are there for both Riley and Charlie before they really even do themselves, which makes for great storytelling because we get to watch that play out and even though there are missteps and misunderstandings, ultimately, readers know, like Charlie's sister/Riley's best friend knows, that there's always been something there between them; they just had to be in the right place to admit it and take what they wanted, which is a lot easier for Charlie than it was for Riley.

Riley learns with Charlie's help that it's never been hotter or more rewarding than to be a little naughty; it doesn't make you bad...it just makes you human because perfection is not something that can be achieved regardless of how hard you try.

Text Appeal is Great Lexi Ryan Fun!

Where does Text Appeal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A huge fan of Lexi Ryan's books, Text Appeal is only the second book of Lexi's that I've listened to via audio and it is among my favorites. Her writing style lends itself well to listening and Piper Goodeve does the book justice with a strong performance.

What did you like best about this story?

I love Charlie Singleton (main male lead) and his path to self-discovery, which included his unexpected feelings toward Riley (main female lead).

Which character – as performed by Piper Goodeve – was your favorite?

Riley, for sure.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was frustrated when Charlie and Riley misunderstood how each felt about the other, but couldn't say the words.

Any additional comments?

Neat plot twist!

As usual lexi Ryan doesn't disappoint!

I'm an avid Lexi Ryan reader and as usual she left me completely satisfied with this novel!! It made my cardio a lot more enjoyable that's for sure! Riley and Chalres deserve to be together but will all of their drama force them apart? Thanks Lexi for another great fun listen!

Enjoyed it!

This was an enjoyable romance. It had a great premise, interesting characters, a nice twist, steamy scenes and great pacing. I enjoyed the build up to Riley learning she had been texting Charlie instead of her boyfriend. There were a few times I had to suspend reality a bit because it is hard to believe a couple of two years wouldn't discuss in person, or at least mention, the texts Riley thought she was sharing with her boyfriend, but overall, this was a great story.
