About this listen

The Netherfield Ball: classic. Predictable. Immortalized.

But what if Elizabeth were forced to relive it over and over and over again? Night after night after night?

Elizabeth: clever. Witty. Confident. Suddenly, her confusion and desperation make her question things she long thought she knew.

Mr. Darcy: proud. Unapproachable. Ill-tempered.

In this world where nothing is as it seems, Elizabeth must learn to see through new eyes. Including a man she thought she hated.

Let the hilarity ensue.

I have been thinking of and rewriting ways for these characters to overcome their issues for years. P&P plagues me as if I were Jane in a past life and I want to edit my story to be so much better, especially with the scope of this new time. This was fun to listen to, and their conversations were healing. I especially loved the funny ways Elizabeth dealt with her mother and Lydia. The telling-off scenes for the family and others were gratifying. Thanks for saving Charlotte, and Mary. I did want Lizzy to tell Darcy about how his wish put her under this spell...they both had the same 'dreams' and he would have liked hearing about her side. Their growing emotional intimacy was healing as the original left me feeling that she could do better and he would still be ill mannered and idiotic. There, their sudden marriage after he fixed his two mistakes without the couple getting to know one another is unfinished so this closer mutual kindness insight was needed. The letter was more of what broke it more than her helping everyone..a bit confusing as to what really worked. I just wish Darcy could communicate feelings without the need for a magical spell.

Absolutely Healing me from my P&P condition

This is a story you can reread/listen again and again. Elizabeth finds herself repeating the Netherfield Ball over and over. She tries to "fix" what she thinks goes wrong in the day. Until she has some understanding about Darcy and others, she continues to repeat the day.

Brigid Lohrey brings the story to life and does a great job! I found myself lost in the story. Brigid should read more pride and prejudice story (she has read a few).

Repeating day

I have listen to this twice. I have enjoyed it. As I have read or listened 100s of variations. I did not need any backstory.

Groundhog Day

This is my goto book when I am stressed and need that pick me up and laugh. The Netherfield ball reimagined, the what if here are wide ranging. What would you like to say to Lydia, Jane, Carolyn or Mr Bennett? It all gets said in this ground hog Ball. I would love to see the ones that did not make it into the book. lol. What would you do, if you were free from consequences? Conversations and a first kiss are just some of the main stream results. What length will Elizabeth go to, to get past Wednesday. the day after the ball? I have listened to this audible more times than I can count and it never gets old. Enjoy and get obsessed with this PP variation.

So original and well-written. Just finished reading it again, this time on Audible, and loved it just as much as the first time; maybe more as the reader was outstanding!! Highly recommend it!

Great Story Well Read

Have you ever wanted to injure or drug Lydia or Mrs Bennet to make them stop their antics? This Lizzy does! I had a good time guessing which iteration of the ball would be the one that gets it right while I avoided looking at how much of the book was left. Twist, you get some alternate POV at the end so you can't judge how much longer is left in the story by how much time is left!

Funny and a smidge angsty

Delightful! Listening to all Lizzie’s dreams (nightmares) was so much fun! Seemed like an Austen tale!

I really love this author's work. This is a very interesting twist on the movie Groundhog Day. The story was funny, moving at times and maddening at others.

I really enjoyed the narration of this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 26th of November. This is the first time I’ve read a P&P with this particular theme of which I will not speak. I highly recommend this book for any that enjoy a good romance; and, in particular to P&P fans. The story and reading is wonderful!
