Too Much Tea

I liked this one more than the last book, but the plot revolving around tea was just too much "tea talk" for me. I enjoyed the rest of the plot and the family drama. I missed Brixton and all his spunkyness.

Another fun story laced with alchemy.

If you have truly studied alchemy you would discover its presence everywhere in this book. It does not need to be spelled out step by step. The author does a wonderful job lacing alchemy through this book. Well done.

Love this series!

Dorian is so funny and I would love to have him chef for me. His culinary creations always sound amazing (I might have to allow him a bit of freedom with a bit of meat from time to time - LOL)
Zoe and Max are wonderful together - love their ability to share truths and support one another.
It was great to learn more about Max and get to know his mom and meet his dad - all while hearing the family history. (a possible mystery to come with his Grandmothers history - a possible future story. Maybe and maybe not.
While I missed some of the usual characters, you knew they were still around.
The way Gigi weaves the storyline - nothing is left aside nor a detail forgotten. There are moments in the story when a character’s background is repeated a few times — even though it may be shared with a few different words, it felt a little overdone. No complaints, I cannot wait to read the next Accidental Alchemist!!

At the end, Gigi gives some historical connections - truths and possibilities. That was just as interesting as the story told.

Here’s to the next book in the series - yes!!

Nice continuation

I’m glad max and Dorian have finally met. I do feel like we keep repeating pasts facts like everyone’s origins and it’s detracting from the story.

Fun

As usual, a fun read. Dorian is always an interesting character. Adding the Flamels is also entertaining.

Whispered voices in the narration are difficult

I love this series, even though it's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I do not remember volume control being an issue in the previous books; I've listened to all them. In this book, several of the characters, especially Max and Andrew, are read at such a low volume that what they say is inaudible. (Did you see what I did there?) I don't know if it's the narrator's choice or an issue with engineering, but please ensure that all the text is actually audible.
