The Alpha Plague: Book 7

Flynn Golding has lost all of the people close to him. His mom, his dad, and now, Vicky.

However, he doesn’t yet know Vicky’s dead, so he doesn’t know who killed her. Convinced that Vicky chose to leave, he’ll find out the truth sooner or later.

When he does, he’ll have to accept his community is run by her murderers. The community that offers him safety, security, and three square meals a day.

Either that, or he’ll have to make them pay, therefore giving up his safe existence and reentering a hostile world.

The Alpha Plague is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure thriller.

The Alpha Plague: Book 8

Flynn is a survivor. From the age of six to 26, he’s lived a life of chaos and never been defeated. In one of his most recent moments of darkness, he found hope in the form of another survivor named Rose.

Having escaped the queen and her wicked ways, Flynn and Rose decide to return to put a stop to her. The vicious self-appointed monarch can't be allowed to continue her reign. To take the queen down they need an army. The best place to find one is by liberating the prisoners held by her. To do that is to get close to her and risk capture. If that happens, they won’t walk away again.

But they have to be the change they want to see in the world. A lunatic ruling with violence and control, the queen has to be stopped.

The only question is: Are they up to the task?

Listen to The Alpha Plague 8 to join Flynn and Rose on their quest to change the world for the better.

Narration change?

I don’t know the reason for the change in narrators but Ellery Truesdell was a poor choice. He does a fine job reading and telling the story it’s just that his voice didn’t do justice to the characters, especially after 6 books narrated by someone else. He sounds like someone who should be narrating children’s books.
Overall I enjoyed the series but did notice some editing mistakes. One of the later books talks of Vicky thinking about her mom not knowing if she was alive or a diseased but the first book killed her mom off. Another time Flynn tells someone he was 6 when his parents died when actually he was 16.

Did not like Performance

I love the overall story, and the series for that matter, but the performance of book 7 & 8 was not up to par with the first 6 books. It would have been nice to keep the same performer/performers that were in the first 6.

Audible Screwed Me and Probably You Too!!!!

I paid to listen, and read when I don't have my hands full, to the 1st 6 books. I really enjoyed them. I was psyched to see that something I wanted to listen to was finally included in the Audible Membership Library. When I started listening, I realized it had to be because the narrator was so painful to listen to. Not even halfway through book 7, AUDIBLE DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK! Now they want me to pay or use the 1 measly monthly credit just to finish it. I'm torn because being more than 6 books in, I would like to hear the rest, but it was hard to listen when it was free. The fact that Audible took it back and started charging for it just seems messed up. If you download a book that is "INCLUDED" they need to make sure it doesn't magically get whisked out of a person's library. It is just plain wrong. I wish I had more time to actually read. Audible basically has a monopoly on audiobooks, and they are so greedy. I feel bad about this review because I bet the books would get at least 4 stars from the majority of readers, if they had a narrator and Audible wasn't sticking it to their customers every chance they get. The guy reading this book sounds awful. I don't know if the author had to do his brother-in-law a favor or something, but I really wish they had kept the same narrator as the 1st lot or gotten pretty much anyone besides the person they hired.
