Publisher's summary

When she is released from the stasis she voluntarily entered, the world that greets Emily Harding is far from what she expected. It more closely resembles a post-apocalyptic novel than the rolling green Tennessee hills she’s left behind.

Worse than that, it seems that the rule of law is a thing of the past, and that society has devolved into what it was thousands of years ago - feudal tribes warring with each other over precious and rare supplies, which includes females. One type of female in particular.

It is raw, unforgiving, and animalistic. Much like the behavior of the man who takes her and holds her there, forcing her to learn that even she is not unaffected by the changes that have been wrought on the world, proving to her time and time again that she is nothing more to him than a means to obtain children.

And making her scream in agonizing pleasure as he does so.

Publisher’s Note: The Alpha's Woman is a dark tale with some explicit themes.

S I-Fi romance

I was just not very impressed with this audiobook. It sounded a lot like a book I’d already read with just a couple changes. There was a big buildup and then a short epilogue where the end was explained. It left me feeling like the book was hurriedly finished on a deadline or something. The biggest turn off for me was the narration. I don’t know if it was the guys first time narrating, but when he made a mistake he’d just start reading the sentence over again. His pronunciation of a lot of words were way off also.

Dark, great story, TERRIBLE narrator

First: this is a dark romance (omegaverse) so it won’t be everybody’s cup of tea. If you enjoy this genre as I do then I think you’ll like Ms Faulkner’s storycraft.
Nice world building and decent character development. Some things were brushed over or were rushed but it mostly came together in the end.
The down side: the narration has to be one of the WORST I’ve ever heard (I own over 2000 audiobooks so that’s saying a lot!). This guys’ vocabulary obviously doesn’t rate a secondary education since he can’t pronounce words like ignominious or ablutions. In addition his phrasing is atrocious! Weird pauses long enough to indicate a period in the middle of sentences where they obviously do not belong. It was horribly distracting. I will not listen to another book narrated by Mr Whadel. (Though I guess to be fair this is really a failing of the audio editors - if there were any.)
Personally I’m visually impaired and stuck this out to the bitter end because I liked the story well enough. If I had less pain when reading I’d have tossed this recording and would have read it on Kindle. That is what I suggest you do. (BTW: this is just the first in a nice looking series.)

Narration was horrible

The narration for this book was almost unbearable! I only finished it because I paid for it. Misprounced words and repeated lines. The Author should get her money back from the narrator.

vocabulary, people?!!!

You would think you would be able to get a narrator who knew how to pronounce common words. I gave up counting his mispronounced words about half way through. And the phrasing cannot be what the author intended. Only buy this book if you want a laugh!!!

Worst narration ever

I was astounded at the verbal edit errors in this book, including the complete absence of Chapter 9 from the audio reading. Also, the mispronunciations were too numerous to describe except to say they so detracted from the actual story as to be a criminal offense... literally destroying any potential enjoyment to be had. Very sad situation and proof that audio book narration should be left to the professionals.
