About this listen

The acclaimed biography of the early church's greatest evangelist, the Apostle Paul. Master storyteller John Pollock makes Paul and his amazing story freshly alive, so that you can know the greatest apostle much as Luke and Timothy did as they traveled with him. As you listen, you'll sense Paul's motives, his aims and priorities; what mattered to him; and what he was willing to die for.

Excellent Account of Paul's journeys

I've spent nearly 40 years reading and studying the Bible. I have a ThM - Master of Theology, MDiv - Master of Divinity, and a BA in Christian Thought. I am currently teaching high school Bible at a Christian school. I found myself enthralled with the author's retelling Paul's story from Damascus to Rome in a way I've longed to hear it. I found myself making time to listen to this audiobook and finished it in just a few days. The reader did an excellent job telling it.

Outstanding

Exceptionally well done, moving piece of history come to life, the most useful part being eyes opened afresh to a better understanding of the epistles.

Paul, a portrayal of a true Christian

The author told the life of Paul in a historical sense and also descibed Paul"s dedication to spread the gospel of Christ Jesus with depth and understanding. I especially liked the biblical verses from the King James version.

An intimate, sympathetic portrait of Paul

I found Paul to be a difficult figure in the Bible. This biography of sorts really connected me to the human story of Paul. I felt like I was experiencing his joys, sorrows, victories and defeats as I listened. Nice reading; really matched the tone of the original text well.

use of the word "race"

the overall presentation was very educational especially how aggressively the Jews tried to destroy The Gospel.
I take major exception to the repeated use of the word: race; this word as applied today appears no where in The Scriptures. Its origin comes from western european colonialism. this word like ghost (a german and english word) substituted for spirit was inserted by translators influenced by the roman catholic church.

Simply mesmerizing recount of the life of Paul.

The beautiful way that the author weaves his research, with tradition and the book of Acts with the epistles written by Paul is absolutely captivating.

"The Apostle" Paul

"The Apostle" is a very pleasant listen. The book is detailed enough to provide ongoing interest, and the narrator's performance was smooth and calming (i.e. refreshingly not bombastic).

Great narrative of Paul, the apostle

I’m very impressed with this narrative it ties entire story of Paul and the book of acts together in a very understanding way. I recommend this book about believers in curiosity seekers.
