Publisher's summary

Paul, Apostle of Christ is the story of two men. Luke, as a friend and physician, risks his life every time he ventures into the city of Rome to visit Paul, held captive in Nero's bleakest prison cell. Before Paul's execution, Luke resolves to write another book, one that details the beginnings of "The Way" and the birth of what will come to be known as the church. But Nero is determined to rid Rome of Christians.

Starts a little slow

It took a little bit to get into the book, it was a little slow but I am glad I kept listening. Paul's stories is one of my favorites, this is well done.

Content and the audible performance of the narrator.

Wonderful experience to listen to this book – thank You, Jesus. This is a book. I will be recommending as well as Angela Hunts other books as well. Beautifully narrated – wonderful word pictures developed by the narrator as well as the author.

Help me finish the race

This book convicted me. It gave me insight on what Paul and the other disciples and followers of Christ went through; and here, I can’t even supposedly “find the time” to read my Bible or pray as they did for others, I cried while reading this book, it has helped me to do better, Be better, in Jesus’ name and with His help and grace. Thank you Angela Hunt for writing such meaningful books.💕

The rest of the story

This amazing story had me in tears several times. Although fiction, this is a plausible tale of Paul’s life after the end of Acts of the Apostles. Luke and Paul even discussed why Luke ended it where he did. It’s comforting to think that Luke was with Paul at the end. I was inspired by the faith of Paul, Luke, Priscilla, and Aquila as well the other Christians being persecuted and killed in the most horrific ways.

It makes me realize how good we have it. Even though we are losing some of our freedoms, we still have freedom of worship and we don’t have to fear being torn apart by wild beasts in front of tens of thousands of cheering observers. We must not take our freedom for granted. These early Christians risked their lives merely by letting others know of their faith.

Yet today thousands, maybe millions, who claim the name of our Savior fail to worship Him Sunday mornings. They choose sleeping in or a golf game or a visit to an amusement park instead of taking advantage of the right to worship the Lord In fellowship with other believers.

The narration was excellent with individuals having different speech patterns and voices. The only thing that jarred me was the pronunciation of Aquila, sounding like aqueduct at the start. I’ve always heard the two names pronounced as rhyming, so it me a while to recognize the name when it wasn’t used with Priscilla’s. The pronunciation here is probably correct; it just wasn’t what I was used to,

Highly recommend this novel for all Christians.

don't mistake for scripture

This is an excellent story, the only caution would be not to mistake it for Scripture. The Bible alone is that. This is historical fiction on what may have happened, not a biography or documentary. it's excellent fiction.

Paul and Luke

Powerful and moving!! I cried. If I were not saved, I would surely wish to give my life to Jesus Christ.

Love this book. Great GREAT job Angela!! The narrator was awesome too!

I bless God Almighty for Jesus staying the course. And, I bless Him for Paul, Luke, and so many others who, willingly gave of themselves, and being able to witness Paul and Luke’s TRUE friendship and servanthood. I so loved Aquila and Priscilla, and those that were among the community. Loved the roll of Marishus Gallos (sp) too. This was simply and profoundly a GREAT book. Thank you for your labor of love.
