This volume is the definitive collection of the best science fiction novellas published between 1929 and 1964, containing 11 great classics. No anthology better captures the birth of science fiction as a literary field. Marvelous Stories
This collection contains a nice variety of stories, all good and some excellent. My favorite story was the last one, Fable, and it made the entire book shine.

Lots of Options
I really enjoyed this collection of sci-fi and fantasy stories, enough so I came searching for several of the stories again and again. There's a nearly noir style detective story, a few reimaginings of classic fairy/Grimm bros tales, some had me giggling, some had me trying not to cry, and some that bowled me over and I just had to let the feelings do their thing. Of course not every story is going to speak to you, but that is possible every time you try a new story, book, band, album, song, show, film, whatever. The important things are the ones that DO!
These kinds of collected stories are great for trying out authors you're unfamiliar with, learning about authors you've never heard of, and finding out story genres you've been skeptical of are actually precisely what you've been looking for. Even the editor can become a name you start looking for (as in my personal experience).

Average level of stories dissapointing
Only four stories I would take with me, 'Spinning Silver' by Naomi Novik (a fantasy tale in the likes of Grimm and Andersen), 'The Art of Space Travel' by Nina Allan (about a young adult girl living near an airport and rocket launch pad), 'Red as Blood and White as Bone' by Theodora Goss (about a kitchen maid in a castle tale), 'Foxfire, Foxfire' by Yoon Ha Lee (a fantasy story where a fox can disguise as a human)

Terrible to listen to -
I read and listen for enjoyment, and none of the stories were enjoyable. All are full of constant, bad language and weak storylines. I got through for the stories and didn’t enjoy any of them. I don’t mind the occasional swear or bad language, but when it’s constant, it’s just not enjoyable.

Just Meh
There are a handful of good stories here. There rest share one, more, or all of the following characteristics: tedious, incomprehensible, and abrupt or unsatisfying endings that resolve nothing. Excellent narration though. A waste of a credit.
